That said - I wanted to stop in and say at this point I am at a complete standstill...not gaining but certainly not losing either. I started back on diabetes medicine -- depending on the results of my bloodwork I will decide whether to continue the current meds. There has been research done that proves these meds often make people GAIN weight which is rather self-defeating.

I'm nowhere near losing 1 lb a week at this point - but I am not about to give up on myself or this challenge.

A lot of you are doing absolutely phenomenal -- and I can't tell you how excited I am for all of you! Keep up the good work!

Mo, you are always motivating and inspirational whether you are having a bad day or not, you are so unselfish! lol You care just as much for us, then you do for yourself, gotta love u!

I guess I will check in I hadn't for a little bit. Mo you really are motivating and inspirational to everyone
I had checked in with the wlsc this week and had lost 6 lbs this month so was happy about that. I didn't get a fill as I really didn't feel I needed one and the PA said well if you find you need one before next month just pop on over and we will put a little in... I am so glad she listens to me and lets me decide if I need one or not

thanks for your kind words Julia...you're doing fantastic with the 1 lb a week! Congrats!

I'm working on it. I have an appt with my primary doc in a couple of weeks to see what other options there are for me besides the medicine I am currently on for the type 2 diabetes. My bloodwork is NOT improved and I haven't been able to lose weight while on this medicine either. So we shall see.

Onward -- it's almost February, hard to believe.

Hi everyone...just checking in - since I started this thread lol

I'm not doing well - my own challenge or not -- :(

Fighting with diabetic medicine I assume - it's the only thing I can figure out that is causing me to gain weight -- even with regular exercise. Sadly, I have gained 5 lbs since August...I was losing initially, and then started gaining and I really think it has to be the medication! very frustrating...

So I upped the intensity of my workouts with the Wii ACTIVE and it IS kicking my butt...as well as really watching what I am eating - getting my veggies and fruit in, and water of course

Hope everyone is keeping at it -- I'm trying - hard - and am determined to get the weight loss going again.

Mo
What is the dr saying about this new meds? I am sorry you are having a hard time with it. There has to be something better for you Hang in there it will come off But talking about the wii I got the biggest loser one for the wii and love it and it don't kick my butt as bad as I am able to keep up with it for once But again I maybe doing a lower level then I should but I decided I would work up on it and do a 30 min work out on it and feel great.
Let us know what your Dr decides on this med

thanks Julia...the medication is what I was on (one of the few that didn't have bad side effects for me) prior to banded life...I was off all meds for two years and now he wants me back on them to try to get my blood sugar down a little bit more. I was never able to lose weight prior to banded life and I'm afraid this medication is causing the same problem for me. I've dropped my calories lower than normal and am working out a LOT -- so...we shall see what he and I decide together on Friday. If he has no good answers then I think I'm doing NO medication and watching my food intake like a hawk instead - it worked for two years so why wouldn't it now?

I bought 2 Biggest Loser dvds too but haven't tried them out yet...great job on the exercise -- I say any level for 30 minutes is great - keep up the good work!
