Default b2g 2nd Annual Idaho Band Camp

The Second Annual b2g Band Camp in Idaho is Coming!

    July 23 - 29, 2008

The majority of us who attended last year's Band Camp really enjoyed the location,
so the 2008 Idaho Band Camp will be at Silver Creek Plunge again this year!
We even got the same campground!

    All out-of-towners welcome!!

Children are welcome, but please be aware that alcohol will be present and
not all families will agree on what is or is not appropriate for children.

Pets are welcome but must be on a leash.

Earliest check-in will be on Wednesday afternoon, July 23
Latest check-out will be on Tuesday by noon, July 29th

We reserved a full week to accomodate work and travel schedules.
Arrivals and departures are not restricted to the reserved dates.
Arrive when you can, depart when you must.

Those traveling from out-of-state be sure to hook up with someone local if you need help with
transportation, camping supplies, or a place to stay before or after the event.

    More info to follow...

The campsite fees are the same as last year: $12.50 per night, per unit (a unit is a tent, trailer, camper, motorhome, etc.) Our campsite has plenty of room for tents and several fifth wheel travel trailers. Larger motorhomes will need to park by the office, which is a short distance from our campsite and close to the cabins.

We have reserved two Family cabins which sleep 6. The rates are Thurs, Fri, and Sat night - $79/night Sun, Mon, Tues and Wed nights $69/night

With six people, this would be $13/11.50 per night, per person.
With four people, this would be $19.75/17.25 per night, per person

The two-room cabins have a bedroom with two beds, and a hide-a-bed couch in the livingroom. There is running cold water, electricity, personal outhouse right by cabin. The kitchen has a sink, fridge, and camp stove. Bedding and dishes are not provided. (local people can help out-of-towners with this stuff)

Our campsite has a private outhouse and running water from faucets, but has no electricity. Generators are permitted.

There is a small store on the premises which sells most basic groceries, ice and supplies. There is also a larger store 22 miles from the campground in the town of Crouch, for additional needs.

The swimming pool is located by the store on the main grounds is open from 9am to 10pm. A day pass to the pool is $5 for kids 12 and under, and $7 for adults.

Silver Creek Plunge is 65 miles north of Boise. The map from Boise is below:

Dawg and I will be bringing our large awning again this year. Heather, are you and Greg bringing yours? If anyone else has one, please bring it with you. Last year got pretty hot and it was great to have a shaded area for the picnic tables.

Also, does anyone have access to wood for the nightly campfires? We can all pitch in for the cost if this has to be purchased.

I just talked to Carla, she said that Jerry is bringing his chainsaw and the guys can go collect wood for the nightly campfire. Which is awesome! Thanks Jerry!

I'm meeting with Carla and Jax next week to talk about Band Camp activities. Sounds like they have some really fun ideas already in the works.

Oh, also, Jerry works for an equipment rental place and can get us some canopies. So no worries there either. Is anyone really surprised that Carla and Jerry have us all covered? LOL!

No, not at all. Last year they proved to be the ones to run to when anything was needed, and Carla's hospitality was great. Is she bringing the leash for Jerry this year? Perhaps we could lend her a bark collar.

I still want to come to camp and if I come I will need to stay in a cabin because I don't think I can sleep on a cot because of my neck. However due to the wreck I'm not going to be able to fully commit until the week before.

I'm cool with the tentative nature of your plans. And I'm cool with you sharing a cabin with me & Julz. That's okay by you, right Julz???

    Can't wait !!!

Great, I'll let you know as soon as possible. By the way if I get to come I will also have my two little chihuahuas with me. I hope that's okay.
