How does “Experience” work?

Experience is a program that calculates your points earned by completing various tasks around b2g. You can find a listing of how to accumulate points here.

What is an “Award”?

Awards are earned by being in the top three of a particular awards point bracket, e.g. Posting Award is given to the users with the most forum posts and social group messages. You can view the current award winners here and you can view the top four point earners in all categories here. If you are given an award and do not maintain the requirements to win it, you will return the award.

What is an “Achievement”?

Achievements can be earned similarly to awards however most achievements cannot be returned. Once you have met the requirements the achievement is yours to keep. There are a few exceptions and they can be noted here in the description of the achievement.

How can I get a “Promotion”?

Currently promotions are not enabled. We may explore this option in the future.

How does my “Group Ranking” improve?

A group’s ranking can be increased by having more activity. Posting discussions, adding messages and more members joining will add to your points.

What is the benefit of having “Levels”?

They are for fun. Levels, just like awards and achievements, are based on points. The more active you are, the higher your level.

I have more posts than is showing in my “Earn Points” tab, what gives?

There are several forums that are not included in the calculations. We have decided to exclude forums that are less productive to b2g as an educational site. If you want to see your numbers improve you’ll need to put effort into making b2g the best online support for lap-band patients.

According to the “Statistics” I am qualified to receive an award but it isn’t showing I am the recipient, why?

Members are limited to having two awards at any given time. We have placed the awards in an order we feel best represents what should be most valued. If you have two already then rest assured this is by design. If you do not have any awards, please contact the administrators.
