My surgery is 1 week from today. I am scared out of my mind. I am not too worried about surgery, it is the after part that is killing me right now. I am being very emotional. It is like I am preparing for a bad break-up. I also have not puked in 12 years. I have an unreasonable fear of it. How will I make it through Thanksgiving? I feel overwhelmed. Sorry to rant, I just need to vent a little.

Vent away. You are NORMAL! And you'll be FINE. 1 more week! Woot!

One more week. Gawd I remember the emotional roller coaster I was on when I was one week out. I cried at the thought of losing my dearest comfort in the whole world - food! But you know what? I still eat food! LOL! I was just telling IdahoBeauty, who's flying out to be banded in the morning, that there is the fear of this huge harsh change in life, but surprisingly it wasn't huge and it wasn't harsh at all. Now, if I were trying to do this with no band? Pfft.. that would be hard! Hang in there and keep us posted. Like Kathy said.. you'll be FINE! In more ways than one! LOL!

 I'm sure soooo many people go through these emotions, so they're quite normal. Thanksgiving will be fine. You'll be able to eat some mushies by then and you'll just take it slowly. Enjoy the time with your family and remember that you'll be losing weight while they're stuffing turkey and trimmings into their mouths. :D Plus, you won't get sleepy from the tryptophan.

I'll see ya on Thursday, girlfriend!

I am flying out today for Monterrey and I was fine until yesterday and then I am ok again today. I do have to say that it is a total rollercoaster ride but it will be just fine. Just have faith and know that you are doing the best thing you could do for yourself.

Nothing to be scared of, and the PB part, it's not like you are thinking. I would rather break my arm then throw up, but...this is a different sensation. It's not that horrible forceful throw up from drinking too much or eating bad food, its more like a burp.

It was great seeing you today, Becky! It had been entirely too long. I'm so excited for your upcoming surgery.

I had mine just before Christmas but you'll find you'll do ok. You get to focusing on family and events instead. If I can do it you can. Not everyone throws up or at least much. Just watch what you eat and eat slowly and chew everything until its mush or liquid. I wouldnt change this time for nothing. Im a lifer

I had my surgery last Monday. I was nervous about the surgery. Everything went great. I have had very little pain and have not had any nausea at all. I feel pretty good and am just being careful about the incisions. Don't worry.

Thanks for asking Kathy! I am good today. My husband and I are going out for my "last meal" tonight, so I am looking forward to it. I am a little more at ease now thanks to all you guys on here. Tues. morning will be a different story though...it is creeping up sooooo fast!

Enjoy that last meal, and make it a goodie! And just remember, banded eating won't always be so different from that last meal. It will just be smaller and slower, LOL! Just get through your pre-and post-op diets and you'll be golden. Keep us posted! It's comin' like a freight train! WOOOT!!! Good luck. :D

reblynd, my surgery is the week after thanksgiving, and I am feeling every emotion you are!. I will be able to eat solids the week of Christmas if all goes well, and I am just thinking that I just saved myself from gaining the dreaded holiday weight! Plus, we'll be ahead of everyone who plans to resolve to lose weight for New Years! Best Wishes and I will be anxious to hear how you are doing.

Hang In there. Think of what you're doing for your health and your family. I've been banded for 2 weeks and did note puke at all. My doctor gave me a pill that helped with getting sick. As for the after it goes by pretty quick. U will be fine. You will have a little gas but i'll tell you like the wise women here have told me. It will go away. When u see yourself starting to thin you will be glad again. I promise there will be a strut in your step. good luck.
