I went back to MX yesterday to get another unfill!! It got so bad that every time I drank anything it came right back up. My husband and I were out on Sunday and we kept on having to pull over so I could "water" some bushes.http://www.lapbandtalk.com/images/smilies/eek.gif Forget about eating. I haven't eaten anything in over a week. So, here's the crazy part...if that wasn't crazy enough...I went to Dr. Ortiz yesterday and they saw NOTHING wrong under fluoro...no swelling, no major restriction, band in the correct placement, etc.http://www.lapbandtalk.com/images/smilies/confused.gif They went ahead and did a .3 unfill anyway based on my symptoms but they must've thought I was a nut 'cuz it looks like everything is fine. Today I am having trouble with liquids AGAIN. It's staying down but I have to drink really slowly and I have the pain in my chest. UGGGGG freakin band!!http://www.lapbandtalk.com/images/smilies/faint.gif The only good news is I am only about 20 lbs from goal. This is not how I wanted to lose though...way to much pain and suffering.http://www.lapbandtalk.com/images/smilies/huytsao.gif

Oh Laura....I'm SO sorry you're having to go through this. I can't imagine what it is. I'm sure the Doc doesn 't think you're nuts...did he have any suggestions at all? I'd be freaked out.
Good luck, sweetie.

Thoughts and prayers go with you! I can't begin to imagine not being able to keep liquids down. I pray things get better for you.

Laura,
Have you tried crushed ice a small spoonful at a time? Girl--you need your liquids. Don't mess around if you can't do liquids tomorrow. Must be a swollen esophagus that isn't showing the fluro.
Take extra care and please let us know what's going on.

Thanks guys! Pinky, that was my thought also...I went ahead and got some Prilosec OTC and am going to take it for the recommended 14 days. My PCP is being a Biotch and won't treat my esophogus with Nexium since I had my surgery in MX. I am thinking about switching PCP's because this is the same doc that wouldn't give me any pain meds when I got back from surgery in MX and the stuff they gave me in MX wasn't working. UGGGHHH I hate HMO's. Oh and I opened up a bit this afternoon...just got a 16 oz crystal light down. I am going to stick with liquids until tomorrow and then do mushies for a few days too.

Hey Laura, pick up some Isopure protein drinks. Im sure you're running low on protein with all the trouble you've been having. This stuff is like a crystal light drink but is packed with protein. I sure hope you get the issue resolved soon. It must be hell! Try to remain on liquids for a while to give time for the swelling and irritation to go down.
Keep us posted!
*hugs*

Try some warm liquids too...
Coffee, tea, sometimes when I am feeling too tight, I find that warmer drinks go down better than cold ones.
You don't wanna live on coffee, but maybe this will help get you "open" to other liquids.
Hang in there...
You promised new pics when you got to goal!

You will definately get ALL kind of pics when I get to goal, Paul. That could be awhile though so hang in there.
I have a bbbbaaaadddd sore throat today so I am thinking maybe I have strep throat or something...probably not band related. I made an appointment and asked my PCP if she could at least see me for that!!! She did not seem ammused by my sarcasm.
