I have been struggling lately and can't put a finger as to why. Then something popped into my peabrain. I realized that when I don't sleep well, I CAN'T stay on track. I lose focus. The last few months I have been sleeping well and losing at a great pace. Well I fell off a little and let my eating slip. As my eating habits went back to the old me, so did my sleep pattern. I do have apnea, but the last few months of eating healthy and exercising I didn't use my CPAP and slept like a baby (except for those night time pit stops-but always fell back to slep right away.)

I have noticed that I am always tired again and that my head starts to nod off around 2:00 pm. Like I said, this had stopped for several months as I was taking better care of myself. Back to eating right and getting in my daily exersice in hopes that that will get me back in sleep heaven and in focus again.

Can anyone else attest to this? Stop and think about how your sleep is. How is your focus on diet, work, everything? Now think about a time (we have all been there) when you were taking care of your diet and getting in your exercise. Did you sleep better? Did you lose weight? I know I do. Garbage in = garbage out. And p'nuts thread goes great with this.

I have read many many articles about how bad sleep deprivation is. The sad thing is most Dr.'s never stop to think about sleep as being a major cause for lot's of health issues. But most people with health issues seem to lack the right amout of that deep REM sleep.

I know for me sleep is a problem no matter what. I either sleep to little or sleep too much. I do have apnea, plus fibro, chronic fatigue and RA. Those things are supposed to improve with better diet. I don't snore near as bad as I did before. I do sleep somewhat better. However, back surgery and hip surgery played a role in that.

I have noticed that my brain continues to go at night if I've been eating things that I shouldn't. Mainly sugar!!
I just have to keep plugging along and lose more, eat better, and try to exercise. I know my routine has no routine to it. So that causes a problem also.

Good diet = good nights sleep. Proven time and time again. If I slip during the day, I lose sleep, and tend to eat worse the next day to stimulate = another lost nights sleep. Have to get tired enough of that to hit myself (literally) in the head and straighten back up.

Any time I am tired, I comfort myself with food. Usually carbs and then I have that carb hang over the next day and feel more tired and the need to comfort again with food. What a cycle...

I am no bandster yet, but fingers crossed. I dont know if this is o.k. for you bandsters, but I rely on vegetarian meat products from Loma Linda co. through Amazon for most of my meals. The food is filling & they offer meat substitutes for a wide variety of foods & the texture is very tender. Please tell me if you think that vegan substitutes might be an option for sufficient protien. If so Its going to be my saving grace.
