Tuna is one of the best sources of protein and is on the list of mushies for the post-op diet, so it should be on everyone's menu from the early banded days. Tuna is blah you say? Well, I'm here to say Nay! :heh: Tuna is splendid and here's a few ways I love my tuna.

Canned tuna, drained with 2 tablespoons of fat free thousand island dressing.

Canned tuna, drained with mustard and a teaspoon of dill pickle relish. (Thanks Funny! I would have never believed this was so good!)

Starkist Tuna Lunch to Go packs - Oh my god these are SO freaking good! They come with a foil pack of tuna, a small pack of reduced fat mayo, some have pickle relish, and 6 Ritz-type crackers. They are just under 300 calories, have 23g protein, and cost less than $2.00. A terrific lunch that you can take with you anywhere! And now they have them in Lemon Pepper and Hickory Smoked. Delicious stuff! I get mine at WalMart.

How do you like your tuna?

Tuna has been a problem for me... but yesterday I decided to try it warm on a rice cake.. I topped it with a small amount of cheese, less than an oz. and toasted it in the oven... it was good and went down will. I didn't eat the rice cake. The first bite I knew that was not going to work.

Tuna - Oh the possibilities!

The standard is tuna with onions and mayo.

The vavoom is tuna with cilantro, lime, onions, and mayo.

When I was in Guatemala, they didn't put any mayo in their tuna. It was served with onions, cilantro, lime, diced tomatoes - with a side of tortilla to wrap it all up in. It was interesting.

mmmmm Tuna

Main tuna ingredients are Walden's Farms Thousand Island dressing (zero calories baby), celery, onions and some relish depending on flavor.

Secondary choice a mix of WF ranch and blue cheese dressings

The truly amazing way to eat tuna, Spicy Crunchy O'Toro bowls at Nisen Sushi mmmmmmmmmmmm

Another amazing way (which means like the last one, one I don't get to have often) Spicy Tuna Naruto Rolls from Nisen Sushi (Naruto rolls are rolled in thin cucumber instead of rice and seaweed).

I'll never forget eating Wasabi Tuna at an upper end restaurant with my sister. I think I about died.

I forgot to mention how yummy it is to eat mayo, sour cream, and cream cheese all mixed into tuna. You can use all lowfat/fat free if you choose.

Forget about canned tuna, make mine fresh tuna in a roll. Tuna and cream cheese or spicy tuna roll are my favorites. Of course, I haven't had surgery yet so who knows what will happen afterwards. I do love the flavored tunas in the foil packs that they have now. Mmmmmm!
