I was banded on 5/19/09. I am happy with the way I feel. I am still experiencing a lot of shoulder pain. Did anyone else expereince this?
I would love to hear from you. Thanks!
I experienced a bit of that and i believe that it was related to gas. I believe i chewed on some of those chewable anti-gas pills and walked around a lot. I think that helps with the gas. hope you feel better!

yep what Rini said is right -- Gas-X strips and even a warm heating pad might help. Hang in there, it will go away soon. Congrats on joining band land!

Sharon - not to worry, it's perfectly normal after lapband surgery, almost everyone goes through it to some extent. It's just air that was trapped in your abdomen, and now it's filtered it's way up to your shoulders. It sure is a pain! Mine was gone completely within a week.

I am having that too. I was banded 5/22/09. Walking, gas-x and hubby burping me helps a lot. Then I poot and I feel even better. hehe
It is nice to know it takes about a week to get through this stage. I can do anything for a week.
Do you work outside the house? Have you gone back to work yet? This is my first day back but will make it a 1/2 day only.

Very normal, annoyingly painful none-the-less. I hope it goes away soon!

Thanks so much for your reply. How was your first day back to work? I'm a teaching assistant and I'll return next week. Keep in touch.

Yes, i am having shoulder pain too. It is from the gas they puffed into you. somehow it settles in your shoulder. a heating pad will really help you. Good luck and I hope it may have already gone.

Btlmom3 - about the gas buildup.....walking, patting your chest like you are burping a baby, have someone burp you (pat you on your back) gas-x, heating pad on the shoulders all help. It is miserable if you don't stop it before it builds up too much. As soon as I feel my chest getting tight or my shoulders tensing up I start my routine.
Walk
Pat chest
Gas - X
rinse and repeat as needed.
Hope this helps...Hugs
