Joined the gym hired a PT twice a week. Been VERY faithful with 5-6 day a week in the gym doing HIGH cardio and weight training with my PT. I weighed and did measurements mid March.........I have not lost ONE single pound or inch in the 2 full months I've been doing this, not to mention the restriction I have with band, right now i feel im in sweet sopt. I HATE this.......what is wrong with me?? ANy thoughts and ideas welcomed!

I can tell you without having a band.. That from 200 pounds to 188 pounds is the freaking hardest for me to break.. Keep doing what you are doing and sooner or later you will have a big drop.. Just keep working it..
Yes, Im at that 190- 195 range............driving me crazy!!!! I am working like a dog in the gym..........unlike anything I have EVER done before. Its like this is it for me. But I'm still fat!!!!

kelli.. our bodies are so strange.. sometimes they just like a weight range and will hole on there for a while.. from 200 to 188 is a pain.. then I go through it again from 171 to about 169... then I lose again...
Thanks red, I keep hearing this is normal from ppl, but I know so many ppl who go into the gym 3 times a week and lose all this weight.........I told DH my body LOVES my fat and does not want to let go of it! lol

I was teaching step aerobics and water aerobics when I was trying to break the 170's.. i was working out an average of 2 times a day and eating a paleo diet and it took me forever to lose 3 pounds.. The good new for me is that my body seems to like being in the low 200's so the extra weight I gained last summer from steroids is falling off.. But I will be at the 200to 195 pound battle in the next couple weeks..

I think we've all been there, Kelli. Sometimes it just doesn't seem physically possible. But I will say this- I know that you may have heard this already, but it is true- as you build muscle and burn fat, the muscle is denser and weighs more than the fat. Therefore, even though you may have not lost much weight, you may in fact be losing fat and gaining muscle. Even if you are not doing a lot of resistance training, and most of your workout is cardio, you will build muscle.
If you've put the effort into a personal trainer, what you may want to do is have your body fat ratio professionally measured. Then, after several weeks, you can go back and get remeasured to see more than just what the scales are showing you...
Thanks Wilson~~~ He did all all the measuerments when I started with him . He wants to wait 3 months before he remeasures. I guess I'm working so hard I would heve seen some results.......Thanks for the post, this is the kind of feedback I'm looking for!!! I need reusurance!!

Hey Kelli,
Keep up the good work! If it were easy, none of us would be here looking for support! I was banded in Feb. of 07, I have been at at standstill for the most part for over a year. When life isn't so busy, I walk, at one point, I even began to jog. I reached my first goal of getting to 150 pounds a while ago, (that was goal 1) goal 2 is to get down to 135. It is hard. Don't get dicouraged! When your bod is ready, the scale will move! Keep on going girl!

Kelli:
Just wanted to tell you how important is is for you to be getting enough calories. Your body will go into shut-down mode and hold on stubbornly to every ounce if it thinks you are trying to starve it to death. Just don't give up. Your efforts will be rewarded ,,,
You know G'ma I have thought that because I deff don't think I'm eating alot.....I've asked that question " could ny body be in storae mode" due to the little portions I am eating. Trying to keep it high proteins and several small snacks/meals a day.........I'M TRYING EVERYTHING...........Guess I'll keep trying...........darn tricky band!!!!

Hi Kelli,
I'm in the some place...about a month of daily workouts 1hr at a clip and sweating like a drown rat and I haven't lost a pound....I actually stopped losing weight when I started working out. Everyone is trying to convince me that I will have a turning point, muscle weighs more then fat, inches instead of pounds...blah blah blah...I don't buy it. I've decided that working out is not for me...tomorrow i'm going to start trying to cheetos and ice cream workouts...LOL.
Seriously...im going to keep going because I am so close to 200lbs down...but it's extremely frustrating. 14lbs to 200lbs down, 18lbs until im in the 200's....so...it's a 200 barrier which is kicking me butt on two fronts.

Kelli,
I have experienced a little of what you are talking about and have found that it seriously had to do with what I was eating...or should I say....NOT eating. I wasn't getting enough calories in to support how much I was working out. Like you said...darn tricky band! Good luck!
Thanks ladies..............seems I can't win for losing.........eat to much get fat, not eat enough stay fat! LOL...........I like the cheetos and Ice cream idea............YA!!!
Na, I'm going to stick with it.....last night at my session with my trainer he told he could really tell a diffrence (of course I pay him to say that don't I) LOL but I do feel better even if the scale aint moved a inch! I'll keep you all posted!

keep the faith Kelly, maybe try avoiding DIET POP !! lol seriously, salt intake can make you retain water real bad too... always check with your trainer but maybe you should try walking every other day to mix it up a little, I am a firm believer in walking, I am up to five miles a day... but I still go thru periods where it seems like Im not shrinking at all then boom, I will lose some more... hang in there chica !

Lol. i trainer once told my very fit friend that her body WANTS to be fat.lol. Keep doing what you are doing as far as exercising...maybe you need to eat more frequently to boost your metabolism..my hubby sayas sometimes you need to give your body a break for a week and then shock it back into what you want it to do for you...i don't know maybe it could work.:)
