She may not forgive me for this but here goes...

I recently met Judy while trying to help my mother coordinate a counsultaion visit with Dr. Cardenas in Monterrey, Mexico. Dr. Cardenas is the President of Plastic Surgery in Mexico. I'm sure his title is much more prestigous than that, I just don't know it yet, so my apologies to the good Dr.

Anyway, my mom is considering making the trip down for her consultation at the same time that Idahobeauty will be going down to be banded by Dr. Zapata. Now, some of you know that to schedule surgery with Dr. Sanchez, Dr. Zapata or Dr. Cardenas, you call a very nice group of women in the US who formed their own company named Ready4AChange. Well, that's how I met Judy, through such a call to her company. We have talked twice, for at least an hour each time!

Judy has been banded for almost 7 years. She went from a size 24 to a size 6 in 1.5 years from her banding. She had her original Swedish band replaced two years out and her story behind that is incredible! She is now going through issues with a port infection... yes, a port infection after almost 7 years!

I asked Judy to join us here at b2g because of her long-time experience with the band, both as a patient and working as a band coordinator. She is a wealth of information and a super nice lady. She is not here to advertise for the doctors she works for, she is here to share valuable information and to seek support from all of us. So lets make her welcome and learn from her experiences and from her mistakes! Cause oh lordie has she made some mistakes with her band! But I'll let her tell you about that!

Hello Judy! I thought I'd just kick you on in the door and get you started! *laughs* Welcome to b2g!

Hm.. you know.. shame on me! I just remembered that Judy was flying down to Monterrey last weekend to have her port replaced.. again. I guess we'll be waiting a bit longer for her appearance. Poor woman, she had the port taken out, steralized and moved not too long ago, but the infection came back again. They were planning on removing and replacing the port this time. I'll give her a call and see how she's doing. I'll let her know we are all thinking of her and sending wishes for a speedy recovery and no more infection!

I left Judy a voicemail letting her know that we are all anxious to hear about her journey and praying for a speedy recovery from her most recent port infection surgery.

All well-wishes are appreciated!

Hi All,
This is a wonderful welcome, sorry I am late to the party. I need to learn this format!

I head back to Monterrey next week in hopes of getting a new port and reconnecting my system, scary but I want to try to repair this band before I give up on it. The timing is just bad right before Christmas but I am dying for some restriction, I feel like I have lost my best friend with no restriction.

What a wild ride! I work with Dr. Miguel Zapata now after more than three years with Dr. Sanchez who was murdered a week ago. What a shock!!

I am looking forward to the Seattle Splash Presidents day weekend to meet some of the PNW bandsters. Dr. Cardenas and Dr. Zapata will be attending as will Alma and I.

Send good vibes this way if you have time next Monday as I head to MTY to be 're-ported'

Hey Judy, when you get a chance would you mind hopping onto one of the other forums, like Living with the band, or testamonials, and sharing a bit of your story? I think your experiences would provide such valuable information for the other folks here at b2g. Pweeease? :p

Judy, I am so sorry you are having to go through all of this right now. It really is bad timing. I can tell you that I loved Ready4achange and Dr. Zapata, not to mention Alma. I just wanted you to know that I had the absolute best experience in Monterrey and would do again tomorrow if I had to. Can you enlighten me a litte more on the Seattle Splash thing? I would love to see all of you.
