Last night I starting to get a pain under my left ribs when I take a breath in. It feels like something is pulling in there. So to start at the begining I am 10 days out from surgery and on liquids still and at 2pm was cooking for my family and I tasted about one teaspoon of it and it was a sause with turkey and I made sure it was chewed very well! I know, I should not of done this! I have just been so hungry and suprisingly that was enough to take away the craving. So back to the problem, it didn't start tip 8pm. In between this time I drank my dinner shake and some water. When the problem started I was very burpy. This morning I am still burpy and am waiting to drink my first drink tip I feel better. I am sipping water. Is this my port pulling or is this my stomach hurting? Any advice would be great.

Hi Nat...You should prob call your surgeons office and ask them. Just ask to talk with a nurse and run it by them. Could be a little gas pain but, should check to see if they think it normal.
I have not experienced anything like what you are talking about. My biggest prob is that I can feel the port (in the lovely rolls of my stomach) when I bend over to the left. Shaved the right leg...cannot bend at the waist to shave the left... will not be pretty in another week or so. Hope it clears up by then.
Let us know how you make out...Hope yo get a few better replies!!!

Like Bonnie said call you MD. If he thinks its gas, which it sounds like, try gas X it works wonders!! Good luck hope you feel better soon.

I agree with kat you probably are having gas pains but i would just check with your doctor to be on the safe side...feel better and let us know how you are doing!

I had the same pain. I was told it is the same muscle that the port is stiched to so there may be some pain there too. But as many others have said always a good idea to check with your Dr to make sure.

I did not call because it's getting better, I don't want to tell them what I did. I am pretty sure it's gas. I will call in the morning if it's not gone. Thanks for the advice. I will keep you informed.
