I figured it was time fo me to jump in here with both feet and begin my sharing. I am 2 days post op. Hallelujah! I cannot tell you how invaluable the time has been that I have spent purusing this web-site over the past month or so. I want to thank all of you for just being out there and sharing. I felt like I was so prepared and informed going into the OR that I could have done the proceedure myself (LOL)...
Liquids going down well. Clear Protein has a nasty after-taste, but is going down well. Stitches itch somewhat...and I still feel like someone punched me in the gut. Was a little light headed this afternoon, and I am just a little (HAHA) testy tonight. But, all-in-all feel pretty darn good. No Gas, no back-ache or shoulder ache. I think I am lucky.
My mom came up from Fla. to be with me (I think she wanted to just check out how DH would handle the nurse role!) I have to say that you can't beat a mom when you are not feeling well! I am taking the Perc's at night to sleep (cause I never sleep anyhow!) Maybe that is why I am so happy :wink2:

Now all I need is to learn how to have a normal life with a band round my tummy...(and figure out the ticker thing :)

Thanks Mel...I feel like I have a whole pile of new friends already and we all have alot in common...which is more than I can say for many of my current friends.
This is such a positive and productive site...I just want to be a part of it!
Gotta say you are the best with your graphics.

Thanks and Hi to you as well.
I know I will have my fair share of challenges...nice to know you are all out there and so willing to share your experiences. Support takes on a whole new meaning when we are all involved in a similar and decidedly challenging journey! I look forward to getting to know everyone...

Hey Bonnie, welcome to the fray.
Find a comfy seat, put yer feet up and make yerself at home.

And cos you asked so nice and you're an east coaster...here's the link to tickers.
http://band2gether.net/showthread.php?t=2079

Just remember to take it slow, let your band heal and don't weigh in for any reason until after you are on solids.

I have tried to cut and paste that ticker URL 26 ways to Sunday...I keep getting messages that it is either an invalid site or unknown URL. Has been making me crazy (short trip). I am working on a company laptop though and I think there may be an issue with the firewalls. Will have to try it on a PC at my sister's. I think that may solve the prob.

I had to get on the scale...couldent help myself...But, will stay off it till the solids... just for you. I have to say, I was not disappointed! down 5 in 4 days. I feel good.

Hi Kristina... Me waving back at cha.
I saw where you have been under the weather. Hope you have a handle on it and that you are feeling better already...I used to get strep sooooo bad...I can relate. Lots of fluids (HA) and rest (HAHA). Hot tea, honey and lemon and a little shot of wiskey for the kicker. You will feel better in no time...or at least not care. LOL

Monte...right? Thanks a million for the warm welcome.
I have a new addiction...have replaced food with B2g. much healthier! I am sure DH is a little confused by now...
I am thankful ya'll were out there when I needed to get the tough questions asked before the big day. I look forward to getting to know everyone :)

It is summer on the Best Coast too. And yes, it's Monte. I like it here too, so much that I replace work with B2G. Don't tell my boss. She will have a fit. I have 2 monitors on my desk. One for work, e-mail etc, and the other for B2G. Except I told her I need a second monitor for an internet/intranet re-design that we are doing. As long as I show progress, no harm no foul. Plus I can use the excuse that I like the B2G site and look at their strucure for ideas. Damn I am fast on my feet. LMAO....
Must be the NY in me from the family roots.

I was supposed to be in your neck of the wood last week...Laguna Hills. Then my preauthorization came through faster than I thought and voila...I got banded instead. Will still be coming out sometime in the next few months cause I have a ticket I have to use...

OK so time for me to pick up my thread again.....
so I had my Post-op follow up today. i am officially on mushies. Yippee sort of. I had a mental block about putting anything that wasnt purely liquid in my mouth...I was looking so forward to transitioning and then...not so much! I hope I have a different mind set tomorrow. I really WANT to chew something.
Also officially off of desk duty. Worked my butt off (well not quite) but was good to be back to some sense of normal. Back and feet are killing me though. 2 weeks on my butt was enough.
Good evening to all. Mushies tomorrow!

OK so I can eat people food! I took DH out for breakfast this morning after church. This has been a ritual of ours forever and he was afraid I couldn't handle it so we have not done it in a while. So today I went to a restaurant and made good choices! Had 2 egg whites soft scrambled with a little feta cheese. Nothing else! watched him eat his usual bacon. eggs. home fries...etc. I was good.
I think I can eat mushies and live!
Thanks all for the support.
