Well, It is all final. I am going to be banded!!! I first want to thank all of you who have helped me through a really tough time with insurance denial. P'Nut, what can I say, you are wonderful! Chevygirl! Thank you so much for your kindness, help and generosity. I really felt like I had someone to guide me when things went bad. Tricia, girl, you are the one who got the ball rolling on possibilities other than Boise. Funnyduddies, you were awesome and did much more than you will ever know. Thank you all so much and BIG hugs to everyone here with all of your encouragement and support through thsi really frustrating journey. Ok that said, I will be banded on Nov 10th in Monterrey, Mexico by Dr. Zapata !!! I am so excited and not scared at all ! I think I have mentally prepared myself for this for so long that it still seems a little surreal but I am sure that will all change when I board the plane for Mexico. I will be going alone as of now, this may all change. I have a wonderful person who may make the trip with me. I will fly out on the 8th of Nov, have my preop testing the 9th, and be banded on the 10th. I will then fly home on the 12th. I am so excited to finally have this in the works and some solid plans in place. My parents are paying for the entire surgery and the plane ticket. I could not have asked for better family. My husband will stay here to take care of our 14 year old. We don't have family here in Boise (except my band family) so we need to have someone here for our son. Thank you all again so much. Your support means the world to us.

Woohooooo another victi....bander...Congratulations.
November 8th, that's not too far off, that's fantastic news. Bring some good non slip sole slippers and a comfy robe so you can get up and do the bandster shuffle after your surgery.

Love that avatar, Susan! Um.. shouldn't there be a drink with a little umbrella sticking out the top in your hand? hehe
Here's to good friends, sandy beaches, sweat pants and dying in the USofA! *snicker*
Cheers!

Thanks all, P'nut, yeah drinks for BEFORE the surgery! Dyin in the USA is preferred...LOL.
Does anyone know anything about the phone situation in Monterrey? I am thinking I need to get a pre paid phone card because apparently cell phone charges are outrageous. If this is the case where do I get a phone card that will work in Mexico?

Thank you all for your support. I can't wait to get this done. I have so much to do in preparation that it will keep me busy. I plan on taking P'Nut shopping with me for my protien shakes and food for when I get home as well as what I am going to wear while I am there. It is just amazing how soon this is going to be. It is all a little overwhelming to say the least. I have printed Sara's list of things to have/do before surgery and modified it to me so I think that is where I will start.

Hey Idado-gawwwgeous-beauty!!!
How's the pre-op going??? It's November 1st today - only 9 days to go for you!!!!
BTW - I can vouch for 503's advice about taking an iPod / CD player with you. A selection of my very favourite "comfort" music was a godsend in hospital, and later at home during the long nights.
