View Full Version : I Think I Need a Shock Collar !!

My current goal is to walk at least 1-1/2 miles outside every day it's not raining hard. I'm also trying to strengthen my core while I walk by standing tall, shoulders back, head up, gut sucked in, and butt tucked up. Do you know how many times I catch myself with my head down? It's disgusting. I can't keep that darned thing up on my shoulders where it belongs. Thus I need a shock collar to zap myself with every time my head goes down !!! Only thing I can think of is that I instinctively want to look down to make sure I'm not going to twist my ankle because of a hole or a rock. I'll keep you posted with any progress. Okay, tomorrow I'm gonna count how many times I have to lift my head back up ,,, and then aim to reduce that number at least by 1 every day ,,,

Max and Moze have shock collars, but you'd have to bark to trigger them. You might look kinda funny. However, if you wanna fly me up there I have an old cattle prod lying around somewhere. *grins*
This is going to be interesting because I do this same thing when I'm sitting at the computer. My shoulders roll forward, my back bows, and my head flops back onto my shoulders. How attractive. If I keep this up, I should look great by the time I'm 70. I haven't counted the number of times I've made my self sit up straight, but I should. I have pen and paper right here! It's time we straightened up, Judy! haha! :)

Susan, I actually do have a shock collar around here somewhere that is triggered by a remote controller. Maybe I sould look it up. I may look funny, but if it works, what the hay ,,, It's better than a cattle prod !!! I've seen those things in action, and they make the cows beller !!! Ha!!! I just checked 'beller' on spell check ,,, and it's not a word. I assume it's supposed to be bellow, but my mama always said beller ,,, That's a hick for ya !!! LOL
Mama always used to yell at me to: "Stand up straight." Hell, I was slouchy even as a kid. I agree with you about straightening up. I need to get those core muscles working again. I know I'd feel better if everything was lined up like it was supposed to be.

Honestly, I think about this all the time! I know that schlumping in front of the computer contributed to my "wanting to die for 8 days" after surgery. Now I try to remember to sit up properly, with my head and neck in proper postion, but I catch myself sideways, with my left elbow on the armrest, and my boobs sucked in and my head thrust forward....my chiropractor would be horrified!
I was also wondering if this contributes to kink in the port line. I was laying awake last night thinking about my port and the line and Speed's kink and I was wondering if schlumping over could cause the kink? Not to mention that Speed's line was too long.
Hmmmm.....

For an Alaska gal, that sounds pretty much like Middle Tennessee/Western Kentucky to me...

Get you one of those Army ruck sacks (back-back) and fill it with some weight. (about 30 or 40 lbs) Strap that thing on your back and you wont lower your head. It will actually pull your upper body backwards. You will get a good leg work out while you walk also.

Greg, I LIKE that idea!!!
Judy, if you went to Catholic school, you could just imagine Sr. Mary "Inflicta" of pain, popping your shoulders with the yard stick if you let the books on your head fall. That would cause you nightmares, and therefore you could walk miles with the imaginary books. To get the last laugh, imagine some trashy novels on your head...

Judy....I thought maybe it was to help you stop cussing!! FR LMAO
I have slumped forward since I was a kid. I started getting boobs in the 4th grade by 7th grade I was bigger than my mom, my aunt, and my sister. In HS I was a 38D. Try carrying them babies around without schlumping@@#@@
By the time I was in my late 20's I was a 48HH LONG!! LOL
Now I schlump so I don't step on rocks or anything that might make me fall or break a hip.
