Ok so I have no idea when I will get my band ( it sucks).. I hate my weight right now... So I think I am starting Weight Watchers on Monday.. I am looking for accountability and I know when I have to weigh in front of people I will kick myself if I don't lose or if I gain..
I just wanted to put this out here to see what other s have to say about it.. Anyone want to join me??:elephant:

hi
i support you in what ever you choose to do to kick start this til surgery. WW is a nutritionally good food plan. It offers support and if you follow it you will loose weight. Come here too to get more support, god knows how hard this is. We will help each other no matter how we do it, good luck,

Good for you, Pattie! Weight Watchers teaches some good basic habits that will aid you well when you get the band. Congratulations on kicking breast cancer's ass! You are an amazing woman.

Good luck with WW! I have done it multiple times before I got my band...and by the way no one else sees what you weight at WW. So, you don't ever "weigh in front of other people". the scale u step on is the only thing people can see. The weight reader is behind the counter. =) It's a great program! Good luck to you!

i've been very successful at WW before --- one time, i lost 50 lbs!!! but of course, gained it all back - plus some.
ironically, vin and i just started counting points ourselves on thursday. we're on day 3. so if you have anything to share - or questions, etc. hit me up!! :)
good luck to you! i am also waiting for a band approval............. well, reband - so i HAVE to do something in the meantime.

This nis actually my 2nd time on WW. The new momentum program is cool.. I am doing good so far. I just had brown rice topped with sauteed zucchini, mushrooms, onions, and spinache.. Sprinkled with soy sauce.. it was yummy and very low points..

congrats Pattie on finding something that works for you! I think it's an awesome program - I did it once before banding....I heard the new program worked even better...
glad to know that you've found it helpful too Jess - and all the better when Vin is doing it with you :)
there isn't one banded person who ever knows what the future can bring - any of us could be in your shoes Jess and Pattie...thank you for reminding us that there are other options that we sometimes have to consider

hey pattie... what is momentum? did they change the point system? vin and i just pulled out our old WW stuff... i didn't "officially" join. anything you feel comfortable sharing? (either publically or privately)
thanks!

They just combined the core and flex programs.. They have "filling" foods marked in the book.. Foods that will keep you satisfied longer.. I lost 6 pounds on it the first week.. I eat alot of the foods that kkep you full with little points used..

redgrldj
04-07-2009, 08:28 PM

Ok so far so good.. I am not bored with the plan, I am even barely hungry at all.. I have lost 8.8 pounds in 2 weeks.. I am eating more veggies and fruits,so I just feel better all around.. I have barely touched any type of junkie foods.. I did have 2 martini's a week and a half ago, but they fit in my points and I still lost..

I am looking forward to a better week this week...

Hi, Pattie.... nice to meet you. I'm a Patti, too, but with no e at the end... :) You're doing great with the WW.... I was on it several years ago and did well, 30-something I think.... I'm pre-band right now, waiting for the surgeon's office to get back to me. You are an inspiration to all of us who frequent this site, I have got to tell ya. It's an honor to know you. Keep up the good work with the WW.... you can do it! :)

thanks! the weekends are ALWAYS the hardest for me. being invited out for drinks (and yes, had 4 asian pear martinis last night! grrrrrr... 12 points!) regardless, still cooking along and doing my best...... having my neighbor doing it with me helps. we're going to start walking next week - maybe even join a run/walk club (although we'll be in the walking sector!) haha

I hear ya. Being social doesn't do anything good for your body it seems - well, drinking anyway. hehe I also had a beer last night. Ugh.
Well, 12 pts isn't the worst thing in the world! Coulda been worse.
Keep pluggin away.

Hey Pattie. I think doing WW is great. Like Shelly said, they have an easy plan (at least as easy as dieting can be). I like the flexibility. To me, that is the key to success. Being on a diet usually makes me feel restricted. Kind of like when a teen wants to make their own descisions and they rebel against their parents. I rebel against my mind and sabotage diets. If I tell myself no more cake, what do I do, eat more cake. Cathy said it best, me and my body/mind don't work well together. With WW, you can have your cake and eat it too, and still see results on the scale and in the clothes. You go girl.....

I am trying to figure out where to have a special meal with each kid... I am thinking about the tea at the grand floridian for Sam and lunch at sci fi cafe for Josh... Any other ideas???/
Great to here that Pattie i never leave for a sdisney trip without one. Did you get the newest version? Hubby and i ate at Jiko's for his birthday it was really yummy! I had scallops so that was very kind to my band! Luv ya right back!
hmmm. i had lunch at the sci fi once it was nice. You sit in a booth which is a car and you feel like you are sitting outdoors at a drive through movie like in the old days when they had outdoor movies. the waitress comes up to your car and take your order and they play these sci-fi clips on the large screen in front of you.Its pretty cool for the kids.
The show lunch places are hard to book but you can try i forget the names..i think they have one at the Polynesean hotel..some kind of luau.
The wispering canyon is kind of interesting bc its not very quite and the waiters can get pretty loud. for example my husband ordered a large soda and they brought him the GINORMOUS cup it was larger than his head..kind of silly.
The kids usually like the character breakfasts..the one at cape may is nice at the beach club.i'll try to think of another one if i can but if you see a place int he paqssporter as me ive been to lots of them

Hey y'all not bandless, but I joined WW! I know. . a litle silly, but my mom needs to go and I said I would go with her. Plus it is great for accountability, which I need. I have not found too much in the way of support groups here. This will be my second week, so let's see how it goes. I just find it easy to keep up with the food, although I have a hard time eating the points given to me with my band unless I eat some crap sometimes. Maybe I can donate some of my points to y'all!

honestly stacey, you shuold talk to the leader privately after the meeting and explain your circumstances and see what they suggestion for # of points for you. i have my meeting tonight. my neighbor and i have been walking, walking, walking almost every night - so i'm hoping i lost the 2 i gained last week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Girl I am glad you went! Don't even feel bad. . .I dread going tomorrow. I have not been good at all. It has been a really weird week emotionally for me. I thought I might be preggers, which is a good thing (we are trying). But the reality of it scared me for some reason. (I know I am crazy!) Well after 6 days of going back and forth, I am definitely not. Of course this made me all crazy again! I haven't kept up with my points at all this week. I will do better tomorrow!
