Hey Bandlarians!

Help needed and a slap if you feel it will help.

I emotionally eat, but what I do even more than eat wrong foods is eat foods fast.

This week, I have been trying to rescue kittens in my apartment complex that will be abused here, and the stress has made me eat too fast. Twice I got a "knot" in my band area. I could feel the food stuck. I've never done that before. I have never experienced that before and had it happen twice in a week.

I came in from trying to rescue them and ate two hot dogs with bun in about 10 min (if)!!!!!!!
I could feel the heat of the food and feel pain come and go as the food was trying to squeeze it's way through.
Awful.

It happened again this morning. We are going to set hava-a-heart traps for the kittens and mom in an hour. I shoveled 3 soy sausages in and felt it happening.
It's so very hard to break these habits, but I'm afraid that I might have slipped the band and if not, afriad I WILL If I can't remind myself to slow down when I'm stressed.

Awww, Leener. I'm sorry you're getting the golf ball. Maybe you could try cutting up your food into tiny little bites before you even open your mouth. Do that for every meal. That might be a good habit building tool. I overheard one of the banded receptionists at my doctor's office telling that to someone. She does it for all meals.

I think you are doing a wonderfully compassionate thing trying to rescue those poor kittens. What are you going to do with them when you catch them?

Stress can do that to you...don't worry about it and just try and slow down an itsy bit...you'll be fine and good luck with the kittens.

Thanks all!

The idea about cutting the pieces up is a great idea.

By the way, I have had restriction this week for some reason (I have no restriction really). Is that stress?
I fell down onto my stomach last week that made it sore in that area.

I'm just so worried I'm slipped.

p.s. 2 kitties and mom have been rescued today. Just waiting on one more kitten. We have the trap baited outside and I hope it goes in soon.

We will try to find homes for them. I have no place to keep them, so I hope it's within a few days!! :-0

Hi Leener....

Sorry you're having to go through this. That's rough. I definitely stress eat, too - I find myself standing there chewing and wondering how the food even got there. Anyway....maybe you should make yourself the goal of only putting anything in your mouth if you're actually sitting down. That, along with cutting up all your food, should really help. Turn off the tv and radio and really sit there and eat. It's easier to concentrate that way.

Now, if only I could follow my own advice.....

My doctor's advice: if you can't devote at least 30 minutes to eating then don't. Drink a protein drink instead. You need to prepare your meal and then sit and eat it. If you are stressed, in a hurry then don't try to eat. That's not good for you either. I'm amazed that you tried 2 hot dogs with a bun. I haven't had enough nerve to try bread. When I eat hot dogs I cut them in very tiny bites and try to remove the skin as much as possible.

Slow down and you'll be fine. Good luck with the rescue of the cats.
