SLC Get together...

Ok thought I would start this here..(well p'nut thought it would be good.)

I fly in on Nov 1rst arrive @ 3:10. We will go to the hotel and get checked in. I have Susan's cell but that is it and she has mine. So what are we going to do Wed? I could do dinner.....I am staying at the Crystal Inn Midvalley. I have NO idea where anything is and we want have a car. So I will either need to bum a ride or take public transportation.

I have never been to SLC so ya'll lead this way for this southern east coast girl. :nod:

Hi Kim! I'm afraid I won't be able to come out on Wednesday night bc I have to work. I'm so sad I will miss everyone! Do you have the address of your hotel? That way I can recommend something nearby so you don't have take public transportation (it's pretty good downtown, but not so much elsewhere).

Oh I hate that...but I will also have some time friday afternoon as our confrence gets out at like 3. So maybe at some point we can meet up. I will pm you my cell so that you can call me. I will pm you the address of the hotel alson.

Ok Susan where are you? Any plans? Anyone else want to try and meet up even if it's over tea or coffee. (I don't like coffee so I will do the tea.)hehe

I'm here! I'm here! I just wrote to Hippo's Hope (Gayla) and told her that she and I will be the only ones coming down for this trip. LindaV is leaving on a big family vacation on the 3rd and being gone the two days prior would be too difficult. Everyone else has to work. :(

But! Gayla and I will be there. We are driving down Wednesday morning (Nov 1st). Kim, is someone meeting you and your friends at the airport? Do you know which hotel you'll be staying in? Gayla and I would like to find a room closeby if possible.

Could we possibly all meet for breakfast the next morning? Jess, since you have to work Wednesday night, maybe breakfast on Thursday would work out for you?

Are there no others in SLC who wanna join us?

I can fit 3 more people in my car if you would like to ride with me instead of relying on public transportation. I have a small SUV. I could fit 4 more but I'd have to take out the car seat and that's a pain LOL

Ok so I haven't been around much...leaving today for Lexington KY for the Obesity Help confrence. I will be back Sunda AM but I will have my pc with me this weekend.
I leave here next Wed morning...So we need to start firming up some plans. I will be able to call Susan when I get to the hotel becuase I have her cell phone number. If we do dinner and it's not too cold and it's within walking distance I can walk there...but otherwise I will take you up on the ride. There are 3 of coming from work but I think it will just be 2 of us meeting up with everyone.
I am so excited...I can't wait.

Ok wow what a whirlwind my life has been since last Thursday. I will be leaving Wed morning @ 9:10 our time. Is anyone wanting to meet up Wed afternoon/ nights? If so let me know and I will pm you my cell or you can send me yours. I will be taking my laptop so just as soon as I can get internet access I will and check here for any info?

I don't know about the resteraunts being within walking distance they are at least a mile away I believe... I'll pm you my cell phone... I got a fill today but I will be onto mushy/soft foods tommorrow so I should be able to find something on the menu :)

Well umm.. bad news gals. I'm not going to be able to come down. I've got family stuff going on and I just can't leave. I'm so sorry. I emailed Hippo's Hope and let her know I won't be riding down with her, but I hope all of you will still get together with her for dinner. I believe she got a room at the same hotel you're in Kim. Someone should PM her.. maybe?

I really feel like I'm dropping the ball on this. I'm so sorry. I'll be missing you guys tomorrow night. :(

Hey everyone...Karla I sent you a PM this morning. SORRY for not getting in touch sooner.

I got her Wed afternoon and to my nice surpise Gayla had to come down to her car and she and chated for a few minutes. I then came up to my room and looked at my emails and my MIL had wrote me an email that really just made me an emotional wreck and ruined my first night here. So we went and ate down stairs (nothing good let me tell you) and by 7:30 UT time I was in bed almost asleep. I was wore plum out. I had been up since 5:15 Eastern time so that 2 hours played it's role on me.

Ok so now last night I didn't have Karla's number with me. We were dropped off uptown by a lady that works at the Bariatric Support Center. We ate, went and listened to the chior pratice and we made our adventure back to the hotel.

So today we have a little more time...I pmed Karla with the plans that I think are still on. I want have my pc with me today but I will have cell with me. So Karla please call me!!!! I WANT to meet up with you. PLEASE....

Ok so that has been my journey I am waking up here @ 5:30 becuase my body thinks it's 7:30 and that is sleeping in for me. Oh this is killing me.

Susan I SO hate we couldn't meet up again...there must be something big for us planned when we meet. :-)

Oh I am so sorry!!!! Karla I wrote your number down and transposed the last 2 numbers. The lady that I kept getting was getting mad at me...hehe because I would have my friends call and ask for you because I knew I had the right number. Well I have decieded I want to come back out there. Next time I will have more time to spend and my MIL will not make me crazy. Thanks to Gayla for giving me a hug Thursday morning. She is so sweet I wish I could have spent more time with her.

So while my trip was a bust not meeting anyone...I learned alot. I spent 2 days with the ladies at Bariatric Support Center International. Colleen Cook is just a amazing...Jeanne and Tammy are great also. They offer the support group leaders class every 6 months there in UT. Its open to anyone. It's a little pricey but its well worth it. Just in case anyone wanted to join in it's great times.

Ok so I am very sorry!!!! If my MIL wouldn't have messed up Wed night I was so ready to call you. I was ready to get out and meet new people...I LOVE meeting people.

Please forgive me...I hope to meet you sometime in the future.

Kim I'm sorry your MIL put you in such a bad mood! I really wanted to meet up with everyone, but the timing just didn't work out. Next time you come we'll definitely have to make sure we meet!
