Pain in left chest and shoulder

Being a nurse I (think) I know that this pain is from all of the air in my abdomen. I have been walking like crazy and am still having the pain. At times I wonder if I am having a heart attack or a blood clot. I dont dare say anything to my husband as he would have me in the ER ASAP. How long does it take to go away?

Poor thing... I suffered terribly with this for about 4 days post surgery. It helped to use a heating pad and Gas-X.

My doc said that the pain was actually referred pain from an irritated esophagus. It's pretty classic, I guess, for the pain to appear in the left shoulder.

As soon as your esophagus calms down, the pain should ease. I do feel for you. That pain was, for me, the worst of the entire recovery process.
