View Full Version : Alocholic Beverages
HI all! I just wanted to know what are the best choices for us to drink at social events? I wanted to know if Lite Beer, or vodka tonic is ok.

Alot of bandsters have problems with carbonated beverages like beer and diet coke but I personally have no problem with them. I do drink lite beer though to minimize the calories. Or if I am trying to be really good i will mix liquor with crystal lite and then it is much better for you calorie-wise. Some ppl think that carbonation can stretch your pouch and damage your band but other doctors say a little bit doesn't hurt. I think if it doesn't bother you than go for it!! :tongue1:

my doc said I can drink anything, but I get the burps pretty bad with beer. At a social function I think I would rather not be gassy so I stick with Vodka and cranberrys..mmmmmmm

I dont have problems with any kind of alocholic beverages... I guess it just depends on the person.

I'm really only a wine drinker anyway. I dont have any trouble with champagne. I'm not into mixed drinks or cocktails or beer.

I was told to stay away from carbonation altogether, so neither of those would be an option for me.

I usually drink Jack and Diet Coke. The carbonation doesn't bother me, but I'm usually drinking more Jack than Diet Coke:).

I looked at the calories in Tonic (for Vodka and Tonic) and in Bloody Mary mix. The BM wins. You could also use tomato juice if there isn't any mix availble.
