Quick update as of Tuesday 10/21...

I did call Sandy (surgical coordinator) first thing Monday morning. She said, she still had not recieved an answer, but that I was more than welcome to contact Cigna myself. That maybe I could get my answer sooner. In great fear of denial, I said I'd rather hear the news from her. So she said she'd be calling me Thursday with an answer.

But yesterday, while on the phone with Cigna regarding medication coverage, I grew the nerve to ask about the status of my request for lap-band surgery. The CSR did said I did meet all their requirments, to call the Dr. and let them know.

I called the Sandy right away. She said she had to run my case by one more person and she would give me the for sure answer TODAY!!! If it's a yes, surgery would be on November 3!!!!

I'm in such a surreal state of mind right now. Again, I'm just counting the hours to give her a call and find out. I will post the answer as soon as I know.

Very few people know I am getting this surgery. Just my Husband, Mother, and Grandparents. Lots of other things are going on in our lives right now. This is just one of them. So I give thanks to all those supporting me at this time. I really needed it. :typing:

So I contacted Cigna yet again today to be told that their CSR was mistaken when giving me prior information . In actuallity, Cigna has received all my pre-determination information, but it is still in review, and they have 30 business daysto make a decision!! I don't even know how to feel. It's not a no so I'm not sad, but I'm so pissed!!! Thankfully, I have a supportive surgical cordinator who's just awesome. She's help me so much. I'm now left hoping for a approval and soon. :faint:

All keep you guys updated!

I'm sorry they are being poopy about this. You would think that while they DO have 30 days, they would speed it up since THEY made the mistake of telling you all was well. OK, maybe not a mistake, but it involved a person and they should be more compassionate. Silly me!
