Which band to get?

I plan to get banded but am not sure which band to go with. I went to the seminer last night and they spoke about the lapband and the realize band. Does anyone have any knowledge of the realize band and is one better than the other? Thanks alot for the help and I know that I will have plenty more questions. I was happy to find out that my insurance would pay for the procedure.

Is the spirit of disregarding, disregarded thread.

I have a Swedish Adjustable Gastric Band (SAGB) as it's the only one approved in South Africa. I believe it's been around a long time and is really reliable. Do you get it in the States?

Some of their websites have some great information about the procedure and eating phases just as a matter of general interest.

I like this link as it's the most simplistic, easy-to-follow plan that I've seen so far, but google SAGB and see what you think.

I wasn't sure when deciding between Lapband or Realize either so I told my surgeon he should decide since he is the expert. He told me that once they get in there he will look at my stomach and decide which one looked like it would fit me best. He chose Realize for me which I was pleased with because I heard it comes with a nifty website you can use to log in your food, weight loss, etc.
