Being a pre-bander, I have heard everyone say that the band tightens with TOM. I am curious to find out why. Is it a hormonal thing or is it the swelling issue? I have had endometial ablation so I no longer have TOM but if it is hormonal I could very well have the band tighten also. Any insight into this?

Thanks

Susan

I think that it is related to the fluid shifts that take place in the body during that time. I experience that a little so maybe its a wait and see thing.

I guess I am not normal...I don't have a problem with it being tighter. Thanks goodness. But I have heard that. Good Luck!!!

Mine gets extremely tight during my TOM. It's unbearable!! I will drink protein shakes for 3 days. But, I'm not tight the rest of the month so I know I don't need an unfill. I just need to survive those 3 days & hope we don't have any food engagements we go to.

By the 4th day, I'm starving & eat the whole house!! ROFL!! :)

I'm just the opposite. My TOM rolls around and I feel like I'm wide open and starving. After it's over, I resume normal restriction and appetite. Go figure.

No tightening or loosening for me but I seem to be getting PMT and cramping for the first time since I was in my mid 20's before I had babies.

I did go for a gynaecological check up because 3 times now I've had horrific cramping before it starts. It starts out that I need to go and do number 2's, and I get the full on diarrhoea cramps (but no diarrhoea) and I probably go about 6 times, with cramping and cold sweats, its honestly as painful as the late stages of labour. It lasts about 3 hours, and all i can do inbetween is lie in bed and shake until the next wave hits me. Then the next day AF arrives.

Its not every month, but I'm in perfect health so my doc reckons its just crazy hormone levels as a result of fat loss.

Got it. Here's this month's journal, which accounts for the tag line under my name "I'd rather have CRAMPS!"

Period Due Thursday.
Monday, get the munchies, want sugar, need carbs, drink coffee instead, eat cheese and crackers at 11pm. Restriction increases.
Tuesday, get the munchies, unable to overcome. Munch on Fruit Loops and Cinnamin Toast Crunch, eat an ice cream bar. PB twice that day. Ugh.
Wednesday, got the hungries, bearable, feel bloated and gross. Slight cramps begin at dinner, AF arrives at 9pm. Still feel gross. Still restricted (more than normal).
Thursday and Friday: I predict restriction will remain but I will slowly feel better. The week AFTER AF leaves is usually my best weight loss week, as if my body is cleansed. And since Wavy already said "twat", I'll go ahead and say I'm horny as heck that week...and hubby will be out of town for the ENTIRE week. Holy cow.

Don't know why, I guess water retention and bloat account for most of the increades restriction. It's not a problem AT ALL except that I'm famished and MUST slow down and chew better, and it's hard, so I PB. I feel like such a victim of my own hormones during this time. Ugh.
