Can your health insurance cover all of your evaluations such as the psych evaluation, 6 month controlled diet, blood tests, etc? I assumed they would because it is your health insurance and it is health categorized but at the same time I notice a lot of people paying out of their pocket for these procedures..Can anyone tell me an estimate of costs paid before surgery?

I think you need to read your policy.. Not all policies cover psychiatric and dietary programs.. Or you may need a referral from your PCP... I have to have referrals for those programs..

It depends on several things....most insurance companies will cover this but sometimes the providers are not in network so they don't take insurnace. So it's going to be hit or miss. :) I would say labs for sure should be covered by your insurance.

Not the best answer I know...sorry!

My insurance didn't cover the surgery, but did pay for the psych eval.

My insurance covered all of the blood tests and the nutrition eval. I think I paid for the psych eval out of pocket bc that's how the doctor was set up. Just check your plan, I bet some things will be covered.
