I saw Dr. Anderson on Wednesday last week - and I lost 8 pounds in 6 weeks!!! I still don't make the best food choices I can but I'm doing alot better then I was. The cravings seem to be getting better. I personally think it has to do with not taking birth control pills anymore. I have been having some female issues so the gyn doctor took me off my birth contol pills to see if we can get me back on a regular cycle. I really do think the birth contol pills effect me and my eating. I started the pills last October and I have struggled with cravings and I have been off them now for 3 weeks and my cravings are managable. Dr. Anderson is so supportive and reassuring and good at positive reinforcement about how I am doing and where I am going. When he asked what medications I was taking and I told him I was not birth control, he reminded me to be careful. It was so funny...having that conversation with him. After I saw Dr. Anderson I went to see Dr. Simon - my gyn for my annual yuck exam, I'm still off the birth control pills. She found a lump in my right breast so I will be having my first mammogram next friday yuck!!! The lump doesn't worry me as much as the squishing of my boobs do I'm a big sissy!!! My mom has had numerous cyst in her breast and all are just fiberous cyst and there is no family history on either side of breast cancer so I am not too worried. I am 35 now so I should be getting a baseline anyway but the thought just makes me very nervous. I guess I get to have a digital mammogram whatever that means, I am told it doesn't hurt as much, I sure hope so!!!!

I totally concur--Dr. Anderson is great! I saw him last week too.
Keep us posted on the lump. I'll keep you in my prayers. I had my first mamogram a couple of months ago and it was totally easy. There was no discomfort at all. Of course, after losing so much weight, there wasn't much squishing to do. My breasts flattend out nicely on their own once they were laid on the machine.
Congrats on the weight loss! Keep up the good work!

Congrats on the progress Jacqie!! And about the mammogram, good for you! I've been having them for quite a few years now. It's not that bad, sometimes a little uncomfortable, but well worth it. Keep us updated.

Jacqie - woo hoo on the weight loss starting up again! That speaks volumes about where you're at on your band journey and in life in general -- I'm happy you're happier! :)
Mammograms save lives....NOT getting one is a silly choice -- they are not that bad and I agree - with weight loss they are even easier....and they are fast - not a big deal. Let us know, as Pattie asked, an update after you get yours!

I'll jump on the mammo bandwagon, here. I was scared to have one, but like the others said... it's myth. There is a little pressure, nothing distressing and only lasts a few seconds.

I ditto everyone. I've had 3 biopsies done on my right breast, all were benign (thank God) but because there is such a history of cancer in my family the Dr's biopsied mine. I'm not crazy about getting them, but they are so worth it. One time Max asked me if it hurt.. kiddingly I told him.. "You go get a protruding part of YOUR body smashed between 2 plastic plates and see how you like it!" .. got him quite for a second ;)

Wow! How did I miss this thread?! Jacqie!! EIGHT pounds?! Wahooo! You must be stoked!! I am, and they weren't even my eight pounds! LOL!!
Let us know how the bewbie squishing goes. I hate those things, but then I had mine back when I weighed 300 pounds and probably a third of my excess weight was in my boobs. They didn't make 4XL machines. Don't they realize that not all women are size C for crying out loud? LOL! Let us know how the new digital one is, and of course let us know what they find in there. Probably just a cyst, like you suspect.
Here, have a few bewbie squishing hugs just to warm you up for the mammo on Friday *huuuuuugsssss*
