I am going in for my 3rd fill tomorrow. At least I hope so. When I went in for my 2nd fill, the fill nurse said, "Well, I see you have averaged 2 lbs a week. Why do you think you need a fill, now?" Scared me. I thought she would refuse to give me a fill Yes, I had lost 2 lbs/week on an average, but most of it was lost in the first few weeks. Now, I have lost only 5 lbs in 8 weeks. I am having a different fill nurse this time. Maybe I won't be so intimidated.

I think you have the right idea on stating what you want. When you go in prepared with the information on how you are doing, they can't argue with that. Remember that information id power and the powerful can't be intimidated! Good luck!

Awright Stitchy! Have your little paper handy for the nurse....write down your weight loss by the week and speak up about your restriction level. Go get 'em!

I got it!

My appointment was at 3:30 but I got there waaaay early. I asked if there were any cancellations. Nope. But there was a nurse from their satellite clinic in Cincinnati here for some fill training. Would I be willing to see her? You betcha' (I was going to invoke the three stick rule if she was inept, which she wasn't.) She did question me, but she didn't challenge me. There is a difference. She was going to put in .7 cc's. I wasn't quite ready for that. I don't live very far away, but I would rather make a trip back to get more fill than to make one to have some taken out. We compromised on .3 which brings me to 2.1 in a 4 cc band. I'm happy.

I hope to see some weight change now.

stitchy,
do you have your fills under flouro? i was banded in march and i am already up to 3.5cc's...see my fill progress on my signature....7cc's does not seem like too much. but of course everyone is different. good luck to you and i am so glad you got your fill!!!

No, no flouro. I think they only do that if they think there is a problem.

It probably would have been just fine to have had the .7 cc's, but I was just chicken. The fills are free for the first year, and I live only 45 minutes away. I'll probably go back in a couple of weeks.

I see that you have been having fills every month. I haven't done that, but maybe I should start doing it. I want to have this all gone by next March. That is when retirement is planned and we are going to be travelling in a motorhome for quite awhile.
