NSV and not banded yet

I wasn't sure where to put this.. because I've not been banded yet. BUT.. I had to share that I am almost to ONEDERLAND!!! As of this morning I am 202.8 making the total of 23.2 lbs off since March 3. I would like to be closer to 199 by surgery on Tuesday morning :) Wow, when I look at that number of 199.. I never ever thought I'd see that number again. It's almost like it's too good to be true... but I know it is!!! I just had to put this somewhere. :)

Thank you sooooooooooooooo much Jessica and Mo!!! I debated whether to put this out there, but dang.. I'm so happy about this!!! I'm in a sweatshirt I haven't been able to wear in years, and it's big on me :)!!! I can zip my favorite jacket up now, and have some room around the waist too. Life is good!! :)

Thanks Mark, Cheryl and Betty.. it sure feels good that's for sure :) I was thinking earlier today, about where I was 3 months ago.. and how I was feeling about myself.. this is a much better place to be for sure ..

Mark, I sent you a private message so you and Carol can come visit me Tuesday night. From what I understand there is 2 of us that will have surgery on Tuesday. First the bypass, then lap band, me being last. I don't know how long bypass surgery is, but I think I might be going in sometime in the afternoon. I'll know more Monday.

Walking around the halls sounds like a plan. Sandy said a while ago, there was a lady that refused to get out of bed after surgery. So she had to leave the office, go to the surgical floor .. and tell that woman that she knew what she was getting into and that she had to get out of bed. Then she smiled at us and said.. "Don't make me come up and get you out of bed".. That put the fear in me for sure.. lol

ya know Donna...I think I finally found someone who worries more than me! lol....HUGS - you'll be fine and surprised that you are more than ready to get out of bed -- the way I look at it - the faster you start moving the faster you get to go home - don't forget that pillow for your belly! Congrats Donna, I am right there with you I've been hovering around 200 for the past 2-3 weeks I just can to break that barrier!!

You're so close and haven't been banded yet, way to go you'll probably sail right past 200 a week or two after surgery so keep us updated!

Well.. I don't think I can lose 3.2 lbs in 2 days now, but to be this close to Onederland is amazing in itself!!! I'm thinking I'm down to the 'nitty gritty' of losing weight. This is gonna be more challenging than I figured, but I'll try not to complain too much. To all of you that have given me encouragement and support.. I thank you from the bottom of my heart!! But I'll be back here when I DO get to Onderland for sure!! :D

I'm curious.. they wont say you dont qualify for the band now, will they? I know there was a time when people were worried about losing too much weight on the pre-op diet to still qualify. Was it you who qualified because of co-morbidities rather than weight/BMI?

I'm curious.. they wont say you dont qualify for the band now, will they? I know there was a time when people were worried about losing too much weight on the pre-op diet to still qualify. Was it you who qualified because of co-morbidities rather than weight/BMI?

I had asked once before at the Drs office and they said that they always take the beginning weight, and Sandy (the nurse) said I would still be alright. I have to weigh in tomorrow sometime, and I will ask again to make sure. Man I hope I can still get this. Sandy said that because my BMI was 44 .. I would be ok. I'll ask tomorrow and let ya know for sure.. but here's hoping I can still get it done. :)

Susan.. I checked with Sandy today and she said I am still ok even with my BMI being under 40. She submitted my highest BMI and that's what they go by.. WHEWWWWW.. lol I told her I'd hate to go through all this and then not be able to have it.. :)

So it's a go now.. I posted on my thread that my surgery time is scheduled for 3 pm (Tuesday) tomorrow, and I'll have to be there at 1 pm to get the IV started and the usual stuff.. just started my 'cleaner stuff', and just downed dose #2.. with 3 and 4 to come at 20 min intervals.. in apple juice. Surprising how sweet that juice tastes after not having sugar for so long. Well and how nasty the cleaner juice tastes too.. lol

I had a neat NSV today too.. after I got weighed at the office, I could actually bend over and tie my shoes without trouble.. :D I told Sandy.. it's been a veryyyyyyy long time since I could do that. She gave me a huge hug and said.. "see ya tomorrow".. :)

Everyone:

I just was up to see Donna about 8:00 tonight. She was still pretty much out of it with the anesthetic. She looked good and made it through the operation alright. She said she wanted to go home, and that her stomach hurt along with being sick to her stomach.

She did look pretty good, but I don't think she has been out of surgery very long. Her husband had just gone home by the time I got there so I couldn't talk to him about how she was doing. The hospitals will not talk to anyone about how the patient is doing so I could not really learn much. She could hardly keep her eyes open so we did not want to tire her out.

I told her everyone was thinking of her and praying for her speedy recovery. Hopefully she will be home and blogging by tomorrow night.

I wish I could tell everyone more, but that is it.

Thank you so much for the update, Mark. I know that many of us have been waiting for word on how things went with Donna's surgery today. I'm sorry to hear that she's feeling sick to her stomach, but I'm so happy to hear that she looked well and that she had you and your wife checked in on her! And you're right! Many of us have been thinking of her and praying for her all day long!
