So I'm staying with P'nut and Dawg for a couple weeks and yesterday, P'nut went to get her fill done by Dr Cahn. Now last time I read up on fills, someone was talking about having this huge needle. Hers was fairly small, and I realized later that obviously the needles are going to be different per patient depending on the weight lost. Yeah, see, I'm slow sometimes.

Anyway, she had 1 cc put in and I watched as he put the fluid in and out, in and out, over and over. Had to make sure there was no bubbles! How interesting. P'nut said she didnt feel the needle but she did feel the tube moving when he moved the liquid around. I felt her port area later and it seemed swollen to both of us, a little tender. But she didnt bleed which was cool.

Just wanted to share my experience. I obviously do not have the band and I thought it was really neat to be able to see someone else having theirs worked with before jumping into it myself. Hopefully I'll get a doc as cool as Dr Cahn!

I recently had a fill, and they used a very different needle, it's still fairly long (let's keep in mind that on me...there's a lot of mileage between the super desirable exterior, and the interior port location). The PA called it a Non-Coring needle, it has a slight angle at the tip and it is designed to not puncture a hole in the silicone, but push it aside which allows it to re-seal and eliminate leakage.

Normally I only have a little dot of blood from a fill, that day left me with a nice dark bruise about the size of a...I guess in between a half dollar and a quarter. I posted pics in the Scar section if you guys wanna see.
