Hi everyone!

I'm new to this board and wanted to say hi. I'm scheduled to be banded on October 5 in Salt Lake City. I am SO excited, but I'm getting more nervous as the date approaches. I love reading about everyone's stories...you're all so inspirational! I look forward to getting to know all of you!

Welcome, Jessica! Be sure to join the L3 Club next Sunday, when we'll be starting a fresh month toward becoming new and improved.

This is a fun and positive group. Though I have a ways to go to reach a 40 BMI for the surgery, I am losing with what I learn here.

Explore and enjoy!!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

So I went to my family doctor today to follow up on my anemia. It turns out that they found blood in my stool so now I have to go in for a colonoscopy and an upper GI scope! I was scheduled for Lap-Band surgery on October 5, but now I have to go in for this stupid scope on the 5th instead. The doc seems to think it's nothing too serious, but she wants to check it out becasue my iron is very, very low. But now I just keep thinking of these horrible diseases I could have and I'm freaking myself out! I hope things will be ok...

First- Welcome Jessica!
Don't worry, you'll soon be banded.
The colonoscopy will ease your mind and then you are off to join the band! It is not bad, I've had the same kind of problem. It is probably an internal hemmoroid but it is good they check it out.
You won't feel the test, they'll give you lovely drugs to relax you coupled with painkiller and an amnesthia agent. Its over before you know it. The part that is not fun is the prep where you clean yourself out for the test. However, take a look at the "colon blow" thread here. People clean themselves out to get a fresh start and they are not even prepping for a colonoscopy!
Keep us posted and keep reading.
We are here for you.

Hi Jessica, welcome to b2g!

Getting off to a rocky start just means that once you're banded it'll be smooth sailing!

Let us know how the colonoscopy goes - chances are I'll be having one in the not too distant future and it'd be nice to have a firsthand account. Forge forth you pioneer and come back to reassure this tenderfoot that it's all good - or at least all OK. lol

Best wishes on your journey, looking forward to hearing from you again.

Hey Neighbor!

Glad you found us. You're not too far away to join in some of the Boise fun. If you ever get the urge to come up and meet more bandsters, just PM me and we'll get ya set up for a visit.

Matter of fact, we are having a big BBQ this coming Sat night. Several gals from out of state will be here. We'd love to have ya join us!
