View Full Version : New found support--odd
Okay my husband was not into me getting banded at all. Was afraid I'd choke..silly guy. Its not like I guzzle food, so where that came from i don't know. So I decided not to mention it again, well hardly anyway. I told him I really wanted him to come to boot camp with me..esp since he was off that day anyway. That morning, he said "do i really have to go?" and I asked didn't he want to meet the doc that was gonna cut your wife? So we went. He was impressed. He is now the bariatric gestapho of my house! Telling me what I can and can't have when I get home from the hosp. (okay this will insure my success whether I want it or not...lol)
Yesterday my sis and brother-in-law were asking me about it and hubby was right there, beat me to the answers!!!
Aagghhh!!! Did I create a monster?????!!!!!

Probably you have a monster. But, it's better that someone who will try to sabotage you! Wonderful that you will have support.
If you have, you've created another me.
I wasn't so happy about the nut getting an operation. It wasn't until I came to terms with this being life or death that I saw the reasoning behind it.
After meeting our surgeon at the seminar I grew in confidence in his capabilities and I am now (yeah, like you didn't know) fully versed and gung-ho band supporter.
A monster? Absolutely not!
Not unless you think ME a monster!!! MUAhahahahahahar!

Rob was a bit like this. very against any bariatric surgery. When he heard about the lapband, i had heard a little about it, but wrote it off as something he would not be interested in me doing. We talked about during one of our long road trips to north carolina, and he told me all of the stuff he had researched. all of a sudden he became a maniac with his information. He has been standing right beside me every step of the way. he has done the liquid diets, the mushy diets, and even a juice fast with me. his help has been what is making me succeed. he is strong enough in will for the both of us.
do not think of him being a monster. think of it as the greatest gift you might have been given. it will help you to succeed.

I think that's so sweet. It's great when they get involved this way. It just shows that they really care and really want to be supportive. My husband is a little like this, but he still asks me questions now and then. He's not an expert just yet:).
Dawg...monster who you...no!! LOL
Actually when I did WW some time ago, he cooked all the meals..I lost all the weight I needed and then some. So I will keep the monster....just call me Mrs. Munster....I will just start calling him Herman...ha ha that is actually his grandfathers name..too funny.
Tomorrow is my last day of solid food. Hmmm whatever shall I indulge in? Tuesday its all clear fun stuff..Wednesday...I think I won't be hungry..lol.

I love the fact that my DH is involved. He has been very supportive from the beginning. He fixes my meals and asked my what I want to eat that day. He also packs my lunch. Yes, I do know I'm spoiled. The only "words" we had came about 3 days after surgery. He was making himself bacon and eggs and I was having my protein drink. I said something smart like, "do you have to eat that?". He told me he wondered how long it would take me to throw his ability to eat food up to him. I just laughed and said, well now you know. I let him eat what he wants and I eat what he fixes me. It was just a momentary act of jealousy on my part. :)

Maybe he' a helpful enthusiastic monster - like Elmo???
Anyway, great to hear that he's on deck for you now. Now to get him on (the b2g) board...
Good luck with the banding day, and all the best for recovery - so close now!!! Let us know how you are going, we'll be waiting for updates.
mmmmmm...bacon and eggs..............oops sorry, it was like being distracted by something shiny...lol. DH is sick today, he has been fighting off a cold for 2 days now...I feel bad, usually I try to pamper him, but I can't take the chance of me getting it too..my luck!
I didn't get my last meal...I wonder if that was a good idea not to do it...i hope not to mourn food..funny usually i couldn't even care! Oh well Jell-0 for me. Thanks for all your well wishes and support! I will email
Thursday when I get back!!!!
Good Luck to anyone else who is being banded on the 27th!! (and 28th!)
Take care,
Barb
Hi All!!
I can't believe how much weight I have lost so far...this is insane. I need it to slow down a bit. Mr. Munster has been great, he is always nagging (lovingly) me to eat and drink and take the vitamins...and now my professor in school is doing it too! OMG I can't get away from the "patrol" LOL!!! I walked to Wawa and back with my son today, I got a strawberry flavored water...he bought all the food in Wawa..just kidding..he is losing weight too..odd. Anyway it was the longest I have walked in a while, so it was good to get out. I did do 10 1/2 hrs in school yesterday..wow was I tired! Otherwise, I am en route to total recovery!!
Take care,
Barb
