Does anyone else ever dream about food? While I was on my pre-op diet I would have food dreams. Then after being banded I stopped having them. Now for the past few nights I started having them again, i.e. cheeseburgers and fries.... all you can eat brunch... I even can smell the food in my dreams. Does anyone know dream interpretation? LOL.

The food in your dreams has no calories, enjoy!
Maybe you should tell yourself to dream about food that's good for you in your dreams and you'll wake up with a desire for some serious nutrition. DB

I have had dreams about food since I was little. The first one I can remember I was very little and I was in bed and the bed was covered with food. There was a huge chocolate cake on the bed right in front of me. I was so disappointed when I woke up and it wasn't there!! LOL

I know a little about dream interpretation. Food in general is a good thing. If you are dreaming about eating food whatever you are waiting for will fall neatly into place. Then the interpretation gets into more specific things.

I have a consistent dream where I dream that I am sleeping, my wife thinks this is hysterically funny and is convinced I am kidding about it. But I do have them and I swear I wake up feeling like I got tons of sleep (which she claims is because I slept twice in one night).

As for food, I have definitely had food dreams. Mine are a little weird, like I had a dream that I went to Japan and was eating this amazing sushi and half way through the meal I notice that it all has rice and realize I am going to be sick...the odd part is since I had already eaten way more then I ever could it sorta made no sense.

I've also had a few dreams about different foods I no longer eat. Obviously fast food is not something I eat anymore, and in over two years I haven't. The dream about fast food is a local hamburger place called All American. I dream about eating one of their giant cheeseburgers and fries, same for another restaurant called Jackson Hole Wyoming.

The funniest one to me is a halloween dream...around Halloween I had a dream that I was trick or treating and everyone was giving me veggies, meal bars and other such normal bandster foods.

About 10 days after surgery I had a food dream. I wasn't eating the food however. The dream was that I had walked into the home where I work (caring for an Alzhiemer's patient) and all the cupboards had Oreo cookies in them. All the Oreos were neatly stacked but not in ANY packaging. Just the cookies themselves. I remember thinking I could just get a bowl of milk and go around tipping the cookies out of the cupboard and right into the bowl of milk on the countertop. Easy Peasy!

Yeah, I'm weird.

I agree with Dustbunny. Since there's no calories involved ,,, enjoy the heck out of your food dreams !!! But seriously, if you end up feeling positive vibes from your dream, then it could be that tricky little subconscious of yours helping to "nourish" you in a way you're familiar with. If you end up with negative feelings, or a sense of feeling deprived, then maybe your subconscious is trying to work through the sometimes frustrating eating limits that your band puts on you. In either case, nurturing yourself in non-food ways is ALWAYS important, so be sure you do that.

Good luck sorting it out, if that's what you want to do, but it's probably pretty harmless.
