You know...a lightbulb moment...an "Ah HA!".... or an "oooohhhhhhhhh...Iiiiiii get it."

I had a lightbulb moment last night. I had my first fill day before yesterday and, don't ask me why, but I suspected that the doc didn't do it! Well, I didn't feel a bit different. SO....last night I ate and I ate until I would feel it. Well, it hit me like a lead balloon in the chest. I'm so lucky I didn't have a PB but it felt like a tennis ball was in my esophagus (sp?). I could hardly breathe. It soon passed and I contemplated what I had done.

I guess I tested the band's limits for a variety of reasons - but mostly, just to see what it felt like to be FULL. You know what? In the immortal words of another bandster...FULL is not the goal. Satiety is the goal. FULL is what got me fat, what I'm going for here is satiety....satisfaction.

Anyway, for what it's worth, that was my "ah ha" for the day. Any lightbulb moments out there you want to share?

My filament burned out so long ago, I'm lucky to have a "candle" moment, let alone a lightbulb.

Excellent Diva Girl! That's a huge lesson learned.

Here's my light bulb, it happened several months ago. I was piddling around in the kitchen, making dinner, nibbling this and that, chew chew chewing, and realized "wow, I do so much better when I don't sit down and eat. When I sit down, I want to shovel my food. What I REALLLLY like is food...in my mouth...chewing." I just have a hard time doing that well when I'm sitting down, especially when I want to talk! I'm surprised I did so well when we all had dinner lst weekend. But notice, I ate ALL my salad and ALL my veggies before doing the steak. By then, my band was ready and I had no trouble eating the steak. Well, the 4? ounces of it I ate.

So, I realized that it's the process of eating that I enjoy. When I have that (and I do, with my band) I don't NEED to be stuffed like pre-band. Since I CAN'T shovel food, I now enjoy the process of eating it. Cool!
