As I sit down to my breakfast of... Tuna... :puke:

I wondered, what is everyone else having?

I have got to come up with something other than... tuna :fish:

My current approach is to start the day with carbs and protein, so I have a can of tuna, and then a short while later, canned peaches.

Breakstones makes their cottage cheese in bandster portion sizes. I am eating the 4oz cottage cheese cup, 2% milkfat, 90 calories, 11g protein, 6g carbs

Usually start with coffee, need my caffiene then a 1/2 hour later a Kraft cheese stick, 90 calories, or 2 pieces of Alpine Lace low fat cheddar cheese and a few pieces of cantaloupe.

I always say to my hubby, "Orange ya glad I had breakfast?" because everything is orange and I am so lame.

Everyday is so different for me. Today I finished off the last little bit of homemade chicken soup that my mother made for me yesterday. (I NEVER eat soup because it goes right through the band, but I made an exception for my mama's scrumpity luscious homemade chicken soup).

Then I had a very small bowl of multi-grain cheerios with lowfat milk. Very yummy.

I had a Low Carb Slimfast shake, but only because I'm on liquids for two days.

I have a hard time eating anything in the morning. So, I drink a protein shake. I have all flavors. I can eat a lot during the day so I know my band isn't tight. It's just finicky!!!! So, no tuna for me at breakfast time. :)

Not too many people would eat tuna for breakfast voluntarily as it is.

It varies, some days it's soft scrambled egg, some days it's Special K & skim milk, other days it's cottage cheese and pineapple tidbits. I like variety :)

I can't get food past my band in the mornings. I am pretty boring and have the same ol' fat free milk with carnation instant breakfast every morning. It works for me though, I do not get hungry until lunch time.

hmmm as a non-bandster (like Dawg) - I tend to like eggbeaters with some cheese for protein, or the Weight Smart oatmeal (banana bread flavor!) [or plain ole oatmeal w/spinkle of milk] and that fills me up way past lunch, or a Protein Shake. Depends on what I ate for dinner the night before and how I'm feeling in the morning but those are the three things I stick with. Filling and healthy.

Today's breakfast (as I'm working from home)...

Dawg's special Bachelor eggs. These are scrambled eggs made in a way that only a male would do. I created this while a bachelor because it was fast, easy and suprisingly good.

Take 3 small eggs, and crack them into a plastic bowl. Add two tablespoons of parmesan cheese. Add a healthy shake of black pepper.
Beat the suckers with a fork.
Microwave for 120 seconds, in 40 second bursts taking the care and attention to fluff the suckers up with a fork every 40 seconds.

Tasty, easy, and no - they aren't rubbery.

I used to make my eggs like that, but with cheddar cheese.
yum
For about a year now, I have had a protein shake of some kind.
Ever since I found the EAS ready to drink shakes I am in heaven

I can't have more than Coffee. In fact, I am still so tight I can't attempt to eat solid protein until evening. Hopefully, I will loosen up in the next couple of weeks.

Today I had left-over chicken and rice salad for breakfast. Actually, I wouldn't mind being a little tighter in the morning. (Or at night, for that matter.)

Did you already have da gout or just since banding?

My banded friend developed gout since being banded. Her Doc said it was from losing weight so fast and that it would not go away until she stopped losing weight. She has been on Prednisone, had several Cordisone injections, and is on two gout prescription now. Her Doc said she was his youngest Gout patient - 49.

Generally I have either a protein shake or a yoghurt. Occasionally I have scrambled egg with a bit of low fat cheese and my real special treat is boiled egg on toast!

I make an egg beater omelet with some protein from the night before ( usually shredded chicken), along with a bit of feta or cheddar. On the side, I have 2 Tbsp of baked apple. Keeps me going until noon-time.

I'm a stubbourn carb eater, I will never give them up and I have not seen any need to for myself, I lose better when I eat carbs and I certainly function better.

My fave breakfast (we've been away on holidays to hippy Byron Bay, lots of organic farmers markets to shop at) has been a slice of organic sourdough wholegrain bread toasted with a scraping of REAL butter (never eat marg, yuck) and honey. Followed by a banana - of which I have eaten my FILL as they were $5 per kilo up there, and beautiful. They're rare as hens teeth down south and $12 a kilo after the cyclones a while back in QLD.

Sometimes I have a yogurt (full fat, never eat low fat stuff) and fruit, or a bowl of cereal. We had bacon and eggs once.

Luckily for me I can eat in the morning, as its my favourite meal of the day.

Lots of coffee always.

She has been on Prednisone, had several Cordisone injections, and is on two gout prescription now. Her Doc said she was his youngest Gout patient - 49.

They believe the gout started when I injured my back about 6 yrs ago.

I am now 37 so I would have beaten his youngest gout patient by 18 yrs. I just went for an update and my morning ritual will be changing soon. They want to fade out the use of prednisone and in it's place is Humira...this wouldn't be too bad, but...Humira is an injectable. So once a week I will be jabbing myself in the leg.

I took cochilcine and allopurinol in the past, and I can tell you I had attacks while on the allopurinol...which most patients don't, and the cochilcine is a product of pure evil. It was clearly designed to kill complaining gout patients. The directions on the bottle (this was just mentioned on Jay Leno btw) is to take the medication once an hour until you stop feeling pain, or until you are ill. Now most medications mean nauseaus when they say ill, cochilcine is different. By ill they mean digestively. A colon blow is nothing compared to starting cochilcine. When I first took it, I had gout in both ankles and feet. I sat in a chair right outside my bathroom door because that was the total distance it was safe for me to be from the toilet.
