WEll,
i had my band put in on the 26th, but its only been two days. I have gas rumbling everywhere and pain like no other in my left shoulder, which i know is from diaphram adjetation, But man it hurts!! Even the percodin or w/e pain meds my mom and i are one isnt stopping this pain! I feel like my shoulder is being sawed off by a dull kitchen spoon . *bang* lol. But i read that gas-X is god....
I've also been walking all day on the tredmill since its raining/snowing outside ugh. So i've walked 10 min every waking hour, so i got some distance in. It helps alot but i still hurt like no other!!
any sugestions?
Thanks!
Tory and Rose

I've heard that a heating pad helps and from my experience phazyme works for gas and walking or rocking helped me. If you do a search on b2g for shoulder pain it will give you lots of threads to read. I'm sorry it's hurting Tory and Rose. Deb

avoid using a straw with your liquids, cuz u bring in more air. No carbonated beverages, avoid iced drinks, try warm liquids like tea, heating pad to the area, mylicon (simethicone) chewables or liquid, and move like youre doing...good luck hope this helps!

Peppermint tea worked for me. That and a heated wheat pack on my shoulder constantly. I also got up and walked, walked, walked. I took dissovable pain killers too. Mine hurt big time and thought I would never get over it - but a week later and all was right with the world.

walking was the only thing that worked for me, thankfully I didn't have this much pain....I'm soooo sorry you are going through this, but it is worth it.

Hang in there...I didn't have shoulder pain for very long either...although my port likes to remind me that it is there. I agree, by the time a week is up you'll feel much better. Try to take pain meds only at night and don't "over" exercise - remember, you did just have surgery. Hope you feel better soon!
Hey Tory and Rose! Congrats on your recent surgery! My pain was the worst the 3rd and 4th day so I know what you're going through. Walking and a heating pad is the best treatment. Just remember, soon you'll be past the pain and you'll both be losing. It's worth it!! :)

are you whacking that peppermint tea into you? I hate hot drinks but this made me feel so much better. I had shoulder pain for three weeks though as I had open surgery as things went a little tougher than we thought. So don't judge your pain by mine - you will heal way quicker than me lol.

Haha thanks guys,
I did do the heating pad and it knocked the pain down a notch or two, and im starting to ween off the meds, i mean..addictions arnt fun. I mean an adiction to food is enough (haha jk). The shoulder still hurts but walking, gas-x and heating pad...and tea/ sugar free hot co-co :) help. Thanks so much, ive already lost 23 lbs!! Holy crap! I havnt weighed this less in over two years!! I knew this was a tool and that you loose alot in the beguining, but holy crap pritty much... haha . Thanks for everything and keep in touch!!!
