Did you go to mexico for your lap-band surgery? Or some other country for your lapband surgery because of cost and exp? How was it? What was your exp? And how much did the total trip cost? (plane trip or car trip, hotel, surgery, tests, etc.)

I went to mexico and saw Dr. Rudolfo Sanchez, not because of cost but because of experience. He has placed over 6000 lap-bands, and that speaks volumes to me. My total cost for my husband and I to go including food, hotel, surgery, and plane fare was 11k. It was worth every single penny!! We were there for a week, but only needed to be there for 3 days. this also includes the food and entertainment before the surgery, and we had a BLAST!!!

I went to Mexico and was banded by Dr. Kuri in his new hospital. No regrets. For around $10K I was banded by one of the most experienced docs anywhere, and had a nice visit with the in-laws in CA. I had a great experience and would recommend my doc in a heartbeat.

Surgery/hotel/hospital/testing/transportation: $8950
Airfare: $290 per person (America West)
Phone card/food/meds/tips/lipbalm: $100

I was banded by Ortiz and had a great experience and would recommend him to anybody who is thinking of going to Mexicof for a band. My cost was $8500 for the surgery, hotel and tests. I paid $300 for planet ticket and $300 for my boyfriends and an extra $100 for an extra day at the hotel. We spent about $300 extra for shopping and things. Don't regret it for one minute!

I was banded by Dr. Espinoza and Dr. Morales of the Kuri team in TJ. I went to Mexico not only because of the cost, but also because of their experience and my BMI was only 33. I can't say enough good things about the experience. Total cost from Reno was $10k.

I was also banded by Dr. Ortiz in Mexico & loved every minute of my experience. If I were to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing.

With today's economy.. I can't imagine anyone financing people with bad credit. However, I'm sure if you're willing to pay the exorbitant interest fee's they demand, someone will.
