I am putting this in the lap-band lifestyle section because it covers both nutrition and exercise.

Before I got the lap-band I started using www.Fitday.com (http://www.Fitday.com) to record all of my activities, and food consumption. It is completely free online. It has been so awesome for me that I downloaded the program and use it every single day. the program has a mood log, a diary, a weight loss goal calculator, and much much more. It calculates my BMI, tells me how many calories I burn everyday as well as relating it to my food consumption and shows how many calories I have burned for the overall. It really is my favorite program! I use it daily. the mood log helps me determine if my eating is more emotional or not. It also helps to remind me if I am on track for my goals for specific time periods.

What do you use? And how well does it work? What are the features? And what is its cost?

I use www.Fitday.com, but I bought the extended version for $20....well worth the investment. I also made an Excel spreadsheet with weekly goals and graphs of my progress.

Mary, do you use the weight goal tool? if so, how do you like it? I personally like how it tells me how many calories I am allowed to eat each day in order to hit that goal.

I remember entering my info in the weight goal tool. Since I don't go over 1200 calories per day, I am not using it now. When I get to goal, I think it will be very helpful to add the right amount of calories back to maintain. I do like to look at Average Weight loss and Projected weight on the Weight Log. I also like to look at the calendar with Calories Eaten vs. Calories Burned.

I wish I had recorded my beginning measurements in March. I did it in June and September and was amazed at the difference.

that is the one part I have not used. I hate the tape measurer. It gives me night mares. But i know I have to do it. :( I will do it. I will do it tomorrow.

I couldn't face the tape in the beginning myself.... but do it...you will be glad you did when you can look back on it from goal.

I know I need to. Its hard. I cry when i do my wait measurement. But I know that I am dropping inches and I remember what I was at before. So I am sure I will see a change.

In fact...I am gonna do it now LOL You talked me into it and I am not going to put it off any longer.

Do it Funny, you won't regret it!

I use www.sparkpeople.com

It's similar to fitday, but I find it easier to log my food. And it's free!

I use Fitday and once you've got everything in it, it's pretty easy. It is sure missing a lot of foods, though. I wonder if Sparkpeople is easier.

Funny....I was thinking about getting the actual program instead of the free online thing. What is the advantage, do you think?

I log everything with pen & paper, in a journal. I use www.FitDay.com to find calorie & protein contents. I like the program, but chose the old fashioned way cause it's fully portable.

Ok, you guys have got me hooked now. I am a pre bander but I just put fitday in my favorites so that when I start the pre op diet I am good.

Funny, I don't get a chance to reply to too many of your posts but I love reading them. You are a great inspiration and I love to read your posts.

I don't count my calories, but I do use fitday for a variety of other purposes and love it. I would love it even more if they came up with a version that could be loaded into our pda/smartphone and then synchronized.

As for the full version, you can do weight goals, a diary, measurements, etc. It is really cool!!! I am really glad I bought it.
