Hello All,
I haven't been on here in quite some time but I really need some advice. I'm very frustrated as I am about 30lbs. from my goal and have been "stalled" so to speak for a few months with only a lb. or a lb. here in weight loss but mainly must mantaining (which, believe me, I'm not complaining because maintaining is just as important as losing in my eyes). I have lost around 110 lbs. altogether and feel wonderful and went from a size 26-28 to a size 14 and I stand at 5'10", I take no more meds for diabetes or high blood pressure, BUT I am very frustrated and want to lose this last 30 lbs. I'm not stressing too much around the upcoming Christmas holiday, I managed just fine last year but my resolution is to finally start losing in decent chunks again until I meet my goal. I have had a total of 2 fills and prior to my first fill post-surgery had lost between 85-90 lbs. Anyways', there's a bit of history and my current predicament. Any advice is greatly appreciated! HELP!!!
Thanks!!!

Hey Liv,
The only thing I can think of is that are you eating enough? Or maybe eating pretty much the same things every day? You might want to change it up a bit. Also, make sure you are getting your water in. I know if I don't get at least 64oz. of water in a day, I retain and don't lose anything (or even go up a pound or two). You are doing an awesome job! 110 lbs is incredible! I am soooo proud of you! Nice to see you posting!!

Hey M!
Thanks for your words! I just get so frustrated. I miss my walking regimen, which I really had grown to LOVE. It makes me feel so much better. But with the cold weather and the fact that it's dark when I get out of work it has just killed my mojo. And now we're in the midst of this snowstorm so there won't be any outdoor activities in the near future! I am definitely going to try adding some new foods into my meal plans instead of sticking to the same old same old.
Thanks so much for the advice!

what about buying an exercise dvd for home. I bought an American one called Prevention Walking. I do a 25 minute one mile walk before i get dressed every morning and it certainly makes me sweat!

I have a couple of DVD's but ones a pilates one and the other is a belly dancing one (which, if I do say so myself, is quite a workout) but I didn't know they had walking ones. I'm going to search that one on-line now. Thanks for the recommendation! It is much appreciated.

Leslie Sansone has a whole series of walking dvd's. I have her Fast Walk that I really like. There are 2 DVD's - one is a fast 2 mile walk. With warmup, walk, stretch it is a total of 35 minutes.
The other one is a 4 mile walk and I think it runs 45-50 minutes. Haven't done that one yet.
I like the 2mile cause it is quick and easy and low impact!
Also - if you have cable, check and see if you have FitTV on Demand or something like that. Mine has a couple of walking routines on there

Another options might be to buy a treadmill or other piece of workout equipment - I know how it is with snow and cold - I hate going out at night time! You can also buy "bands" and get a great workout from that too - since you're near goal a terrific aerobics DVD would be good for you too! Good luck and keep us posted! Nice to see you here again

Thanks so much for the DVD ideas, Cathy and I'm definitely going to check out the FitTV channel on demand and look into those DVD's. I would like to buy them for myself as a Christmas present! Thanks again!

Thanks Maurine...I've been thinking about investing in a treadmill, alot lately actually. I think what frustrates me the most is that I know I'm pretty close to goal and I just can't seem to get over this hump. I am definitely going to take everyone suggestions and give everything a try. The only thing I've got to lose are these pesky 30 lbs.!!! lol!
Thanks again and happy holidays! P.S. I'm glad to be back!

I lost 165 lbs in 16 months.
BUT... it took me 9 months to lose the last 30.
When you get that close to goal, your body is really changing... muscle building, reshaping, etc.
Be patient. Keep up the water intake, be sure to avoid snacking, and get in your exercise. Eventually, it WILL move.
Patience, persistence and willpower all pay off.
Remember this, you are staying smaller... not gaining. Could you say this about any other DIET you've ever been on? Likely no.
You can and will do it, be SOOOO proud of what you've done, and know it will happen!

Thanks Paul! I know deep down it has to happen! I have to start drinking water like I used too. I constantly drank water before. Also, I didn't drink while I ate after my surgery, but now I do that more than I have been since my surgery because I feel like if I don't, I'm not getting even half the amount of water I used to consume pre-surgery. I checked into the FitTV program by Lesley Sasone that Maurine recommended and I'm going to start that while the weather is cold and dark. Also, keep up with my sit-ups and weights for my arms. I'm glad to know you experienced the same thing and, by the way, GOOD FOR YOU losing all that weight.....that is INCREDIBLE!!! You are quite the inspiration! I appreciate you writing to me and your kind words. Your absolutely right though, I could have never said before that I've lost all this weight and maintained.....sometimes though, I think that is what keeps me stuck, because in my head I'm so happy and feel great that I feel as long as I maintain I'm okay. I do want these last 30 lbs. to come off though.....come hell or high water, they're coming off in 2008!
Thanks again and Happy Holidays!!!

Things are actually going pretty good....I went to my doctor and my blood pressure is the lowest it has ever been....I have lost six lbs. I've been back to doing my sit-ups and weights on a regular basis before work and am checking out the Fit TV on demand.
Thank you for checking in on me. It is much appreciated. Hope you had a wonderful holiday season.
Happy New Year and thanks for the support!
