Fall is a great time for outdoor activities when you are losing weight. There are a lot of exercises and activities you can do outside, and the colors and crisp air will make you refreshed and renewed. Long walks and runs through leave covered streets. Playing in the yard with kids. Pruning, landscaping, and cleaning up the garden. Picking out pumpkins from a pumpkin patch. Raking up leaves, and then playing in the leaf piles. You can always find some way to move your body outside when it is fall. In the warmer climates the weather is finally clear and cool enough to really bump up your outdoor routine.
Fall also brings the onset of holiday food. Even though we have the lapband, and we are watching our intake, there is no reason not to enjoy some good meals with friends and family. Halloween can be a fun and exciting time with the kids. There are many decoration possibilities, as well as a lot of walking while trick or treating. Wear the kids out, and get their candy bags filled! :) Then reward yourself for the work with a small candy. Moderation is the key, and a treat now and then is perfectly ok.
Thanksgiving dinner comes once a year. Enjoy it. Have a little of everything. The band will help you not to over fill. Try a spoonful of everything, an enjoy the flavor. Eat slow, and talk with the family about the past year and everything that you are thankful for. Your lapband and weight loss is something we are all thankfull for, and something that we can all be proud of. Talk about the changes in your life, and how the weight loss, or future weight loss, has and will effect you.
I am really looking forward to this upcoming season. I have my lap-band now and it is working for me when I work with it. I am excited to see where I will be on Thanksgiving day. And I am excited to see where everyone else is too. These are exciting times, an the cold snap in the air always makes me really motivated and energized.
