Hi,
I was banded on October 24th and have been living in Forsyth, Mo for year.
Since Christmas and thanksgiving is upon us what are you Southwestern Missourians doing? Do you have support group meetings? If so, I would love to meet and just share band stories and to give each other encouragement!:neener::sun_smiley::confused:

I must PM'd you when I saw you were from Missouri! WELCOME!!! You are the first person I have found from here...there is one from Kansas that I know of. Glad to have you here!!! I use this site for my support system as my Dr. office is in Lenexa KS and it is hard for me to get up there regularly. I know I should make the time. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better!!! Welcome, welcome, welcome!!!

I was banded Oct. 19-2006. Although I live in Missouri I was banded right across the State Line in Kansas. At the time there were no Doctors available here. I only had to travel 45 minutes, so that wasn't so bad.

I've been to the one at the Bariatric Surgery Center off of Nall. Is that the one you are talking about? That is a real nice place. I was there when they had the nutritionalist(?). She was very informative.

Hi there! I'm not from Missouri but I wanted to greet you and welcome you to B2G...if you haven't already started your own personal thread start one :) It's great to follow your journey and have a place to post your progress. Be sure to take before pictures - you'll be glad you did, and inches. After banding, when the scale isn't moving - you'll find you are losing inches, and it sure helps keep you motivated to know that.
Be sure to check out the getting ready for surgery threads -- they are very helpful and offer great lists of things to have at home immediately after surgery, as well as some suggestions for moving through the different food stages until you are back on completely solid foods.
Walk a lot after surgery, sip constantly (water will be your new friend) and follow your surgeon's guidelines. You might have some gas pain in your shoulder and upper back, which is normal since they pump air into your stomach for easier access to band you, warm heating pad and gas-x dissolvables were my best friend after surgery.
and be sure to come back and let us know how you are dong - we are here for you!
