Okay,
I've been banded for 2 months now. Lost about 40 pounds. First fill was 1.5,
second was .75, putting me at 2.25 in 4cc band. My last fill was month ago and Dr. Curry scheduled me for another fill this week. I'm so confused and don't know what to do. I can eat anything, bread, steak, anything. I'm still losing but much slower rate. I've only lost about 5-6 pounds this month but my fill level seems to higher than everyone else's and I don't want to be overfilled. Should I postpone my fill, should I bump it up a little, I just don't know what to do.

like i posted in my hellow thread, i think you ought to wait. your still losing, and you should only adjust more if you stop losing, and your inches hold. you are right on track with the average amount of weight loss, and doing REALLY well. just slow down on the eating and see how long it takes for you to get full. if i eat fast, i can eat a ton! But if i eat slow i can eat about .5 to 1 cup, depending on the time of day. the fact that you can eat meat, and bread, and all of that is good. you do not want to be so tight that you cannot get down basic foods. And also, do not worry about where other people are at in their fills. it is interesting to use as a reference, but it does not pertain to your body. every boddy is different and it make just take more than some, less than others.
I am so happy with how well you have done!! It is spectacular! you should show pics so we can see your progress!!

I would wait!! The worst thing is having a fill that is tooooo tight. If you're still losing weight with the fill you have, I'd count my blessings & not change a thing until you absolutely have to. Once you get overfilled, the nightmare begins & it takes a while to get back to normal weight loss.
Congratulations on your great success. I agree with Funny, we want pictures!!!! :)

I would probably wait also. My doc ask 3 things to determine if we need a fill, how much are we eating?, have I lost any weight? and how long am I staying full. The answers he is aiming for are 1 - 2 cups, at least lost a 1/2 pound per week since my last visit with him, and staying full for around 4 hours.
With that said remember steak is a red meat it expands. I personally can't do a lot of red meats without getting sick and bread and pasta's are a no for me. Just can't do them and it's just fine with me.
So I agree it sounds like you are at a good spot right now...so I would hold off. They said it best above...don't be too tight.

Thanks guys for your help. I don't know why this is so confusing for me. Duhhhh I guess. I'm still losing but I thought we were suppose to loose like 2-4 pounds per week and I'm not losing that. I will take your advise and hold off on a fill. I can always go later and I am so afraid of an overfill and being 4 hours away from Dr. Curry. I also thought that if I was filled properly I couldn't eat bread. I don't eat bread, per say, I just tried because I didn't think I was filled enough. I can also gulp my drink were as the day after a fill I can't. Just confused. You guys are the greatest and I can always count on your help. Hey Funny, I seen your pics with everyone and I'm jealous. I want to party too. Poor me. LOL
I will post pics tonight If I can get dh to take one of me. I can't tell I've lost almost 40 pounds but I have went from 22/24 to 18's and xlarges so I guess that counts just as much.

Sherri, i can't stress enough that it is not what you can eat, but how much. a little bread, a little red meat. it doesn't hurt. its all about moderation. and if you can eat just a half a sandwich, you are ahead of the game. you really want to just focus....eat REALLY SLOWLY (i take abour 30 minutes to eat .5 to a cup of food) and watch for the first signs of being full. water goes down easily even with being restricted if you are not too tight. some people do better being so tight that they just can't eat the things that get them into trouble, but this band is about retraining your mind and body to eating smaller portions, and learning how to eat healthy. make the most of what you want to eat. And the average is .5 to 2 pounds a week. If we were all losing 2-4 a week it would be more akin to those who have gastric bypass. The lapband allows more leeway, and more absorbing of our food. Its why it is healthier and we o not eal with the malnutrition. If you get too tight you could become malnourished just the same. Also, keep in mind most people that you see losing more than the .5 to 2 pounds a week is also doubled with a lot of exercises, and really careful dieting. (i say most...there are exceptions to the rule) and higher BMI lends itself to faster weight loss.
I am so excited to see your pics!! I know you have mae big changes! It will be awesome to see your face again, and make sure you get one of rick. Y'all, he is a big teddy bear :)

I hope no one took that you shouldn't eat bread and red meat the wrong way. I had a small steak on Saturday, I was just saying those are things that tend to swell when you eat and those are some foods most docs will tell you to stay away from. That is why I love the band becuase I am in control nothing is off limits for me with my band. Well soft bread..hehe I agree with Funny moderation is a key....with healthy eating. :-)
Hang in there but for sure you don't want to get to tight!!!!

My opinon on fills is probably different than others. I do not think you should be able to eat bread or a half of a sandwich with the bread. I am not supposed to eat bread and I can't with my fill. I can't eat a big steak either. I can eat a few bites of steak but that is about it.
You are the only one that can determine if you need a fill or not. If you are getting hungrier sooner and can eat larger amounts of food, I would get a fill.
Best of luck to you with your decision.
