Hi everyone,
I've been away since I was banded, but finally have had a few moments to breathe so I thought I would post my journey so far. Before I had surgery, I read everything, but I still wasn't as prepared as I thought I would be. I was banded on 9/17 at Central MS Medical Center in Jackson, MS. The first day was horrible. All of the morphine and anesthesia made me so sick that I had dry heaves all day. The nurses were great and were finally able to get it under control. By noon the next day, I was home. I did really good the first week with the liquids, but the second week seemed to be a little tougher. I went back to work after one week and just seemed to be drained. Now 3 weeks out, I'm doing really good. I have lost 21.6 lbs. WAAHOOO!!! The scale is starting to slow down. Guessing that my body has figured out what I've done to it!!!:eyerub: Until last night I had been able to keep all food down, but finally had a slip last night and didn't chew as well as I should have. Terrible feeling!!! Dinner ended very soon! I don't go for a fill until the first of November. Actually, that will be my first check up since surgery. I hope Dr. Cummins is pleased with my loss. So that's it in a nutshell so far. I hope the weeks, months, and years to come go as great as these past 3 weeks.
