My mother is a bypass patient and she told me that throughout the first 50 pounds of her weight loss people she knew would constantly ask her if she did something to her hair! Nothing about, "you've lost weight" until she was further along. Sure enough, I got my first hair comment the other day, and of course, nothing was changed. Just wondering if any of you have experienced the same thing? It's good for a chuckle.

Too funny -- I've lost 40 lbs now and I have gotten so many questions about my hair that I decided to actually change my hair. And this is even better. You wouldn't believe how many people have told me how much slimmer I look with my hair this way.

It seems like people that you see everyday don't notice the weight loss as easily as those you see seldom....however they know "something" is different. I got the same thing....even my husband would ask if I did my hair different. Really...what else is there....."did you change your eyes?......did you get new dentures?" There's not too many things we can change easily except for maybe hair and/or makeup.
So I did.....I cut my hair real short and went from dark auburn to light blonde. Now when I get questioned I don't have to go into the weight loss thing......"Yes.....yes I did change my hair and thank you for noticing!" 'nough said.

I can't wait to see if this happens to me. I did let my hair go grey and some folks asked me if I was going to color it again once I lost weight. Maybe I'll get a mohawk!

lol ladies - I actually DID change my hair- in anticipation of having a 'thinner' face and less of a double-chin - so now I can say YES I changed my hair and YES I have lost weight! lol

Hahaha that's really funny!
It never happened to me...my friends at school were like "AAHHHH You're way smaller!" When I got back and one of my profs said I looked more grown up...crazy.

This effect always cracks me up....I work in a bunch of different offices and I get a variety of responses. My favorite is they ask about my beard (I have dark brown hair but a red beard), so I get asked now...did you dye your beard?
I never understood that concept, I already stand out in a crowd at 6'3 (and used to be 503lbs), why would I dye my beard? But now that I am losing weight I get asked that CONSTANTLY. The other one I get a lot now is didn't you used to have a [beard, mustache, goatee] before...I don't get that one either.
One woman at one of the offices (who is known for her lack of tact) said to me "I'm glad you are feeling better", and I said, I didn't know I was sick. She actually turned to me and said, "I always assumed you were sick...you always looked sick but you look so good now". Now normally I would be insulted on some level, but this week I'm recovering from drinking a HUGE amount of Jack Daniels...so I thought I looked bad.
I also get where are your glasses (I've never worn glasses). I thought it meant I looked old, but since my 38th birthday just passed I was told by about 75% of the people who heard that they thought I was in my 20s. That was truly mentally refreshing since I usually feel so old.
My completely totally favorite though is that people have started calling me Frank. It's not my name...but now suddenly I get called Frank all the time.
I think that these people always saw some defect in me before and now as the weight comes off the fictional defect has gone away and it seems like a change. Interestingly enough, the super skinny kid I work with all day is exactly the same height as me, but people are now telling me they are stunned that we are the same height. Again, an optical illusion, width makes things seem shorter.

Too funny! I have actually gotten the same thing. I finally did get my hair cut, but that was more for convenience because of how thin my hair was getting. When people still ask me if I've changed my hair, I always feel like saying "no, I've just lost almost 200 lbs. ya moron!" I feel like saying it, but I haven't. At least not yet.
