I have been waiting on a third fill but was told by a member of the office staff in charge of insurance that Medicare won't cover it. Seems Morristown hospital is not a "Center of Excellence" so Medicare won't pay for the fills. I asked the woman what will they do if Medicare won't cover them? How will you take care of me? She would call back when they get an answer.

2 months later and I still have not heard back.So here I am with a band that is doing nothing for me. I was banded in March of 05 and have 2 fills and have only lost 15lbs.

I think that is awful that I been left like this and have no idea what is going on.

Thank you for any help you can give me. The doctors I use will only do flouroscop and it would cost about $700 for a fill.

Leenerbups that is ridiculous. I am so sorry to hear that you are faced with such a difficult issue. Is there a way that you may transfer your care to a hopital that is a center of excellence or go to a fill center (may be cheaper?) Don't give up hope something has to come through for you.

Thanks ladies. It's good to see you. :-)

I think what I need is a really involved doctor. One who cares whats happening to me and is not super crazy busy. Anyone know of one like that in NJ?

I'll be honest though, I want this thing out. It's not working for me and I'm afraid of the complications. I was reading somewhere else about a woman who had slippage and erosion and was on life support.

I have always had GERD since putting on weight, and so still having it, having reflux symptoms doesn't tell me too much. My restriction comes and goes. Sometimes I'm wide open and other I BP almost daily. Within the last month I have gotten more restriction which is weird since I have not had a fill since winter.

I'll be honest and the stories, especially being on life support, scares me and I wish I never had this put in.
