Chicagoland Area Get-togethers-interested?

When I first came to B2G Chicagoans were far and few between. Now it seems we are busting out all over the place! Band city here we all come! lol

So now that we are all getting to know one another through threads, posts, PMs and emails, how about getting together like other groups do?

Some groups just pick a restaurant that is fairly nearby for people who want to get together once a month. They take pictures each month and watch their progress and support one another. Great relationships are formed and it makes everyone in your area REAL and not just someone you have contact with via the computer. It doesn't matter who your surgeon is, what hospital you were banded at, or your age, or if you are unbanded - everyone in Chicagoland is welcome etc. All that is required is that you want to have fun, know how to hold things heard/said at meetings in confidence within the group, and enjoy visiting with other bandsters!

If you are interested - please respond by posting in THIS thread. If you would like to PM (personal message) me your "specific" info like where you live, your phone number, your real name (at least first name) then I would be happy to work out a location (with help from the rest of you) and a day and date that works each month.

Come on Chicagoans (and nearby Indiana folks too! -if you don't mind "crossing the border" for these get-togethers lol) let's band together once a month!!!

If there are enough of us we can even plan a REUNION like other groups on B2G have in the past by next summer (2008)!!! Maybe we'll even get Queen P'nut and King Dawg to come too!

(accessible from 355 and 290) -- you can google directions for yourself with the above address - bring anyone with you that you want - people do NOT have to be banded to join us - and be sure to PM me with your real first name/phone number/town you live in

Starting early gives plenty of time for traveling for those further away and doesn't force us to have to order a complete meal - and as bandsters that is a good thing - then as our group grows we won't be "taking up space" during the dinner hour and they won't mind having us there :)

I'd like to see us do this once a month - come join us - we don't bite - I promise - even though some of us are a bit hungry right now during our liquid phase LOL

Im in Iowa and would love to meet all of you... I might be getting banded on that week in October.... but please.. keep me posted of future Chicago gatherings.. Im 4.5 hours from you, but it would be worth the trip!

That would be so awesome! I would love it if you would come to our next gathering -- we plan to do them monthly - so come on down! (or is that over? lol) ....I can't wait to hear that you are banded! No more band envy eh? enough is enough - it's YOUR turn next!

well Jessica you'll just have to "fly in" for a meeting sometime soon! and we definitely plan on taking pictures - I'll be toting my videocamera and will take LOTS of pics! hopefully our group will grow to be as large as some of the others....I'll be watching for you Jessica...one day :)

yea Teal! I might be only me, you, and 'maybe' one or two local folks who are not banded yet or have been banded and aren't following bandster rules and need encouragement - regardless - it will be FUN - can't wait to see you!

Jacqie -- I'd love to meet up with you! I am about 5 minutes from that hotel...how cool is that!!! So maybe we could meet up that night? Send me a PM and let me know what your seminar schedule is like and when you are free - I have school Monday during the day from 1-4 but I'm free after that-how cool...I get to meet you in person! yahoo!
