Hello everyone, Just wanted to let everyone in Boise and surrounding area know of a new group starting up in about a week. This is not to take anything away from the support group that meets currently on every other tuesday but after listening to this for about six months, I and several other bandsters saw a need for more.

So with that being said we will start a new support group which meets for the first time on the 21st of Sep which is the third thursday of the month. This will continue as long as there is bandsters who want and need this. Here is the Ideas thus far.

First meeting I have asked everyone to bring whatever protein drink they have and are using so others can mix a small drink and see what suits them the best. Lets face it there are many kinds out there. We have Dr Cahan and others committed to come and speak to us on issues we are having and also other experts in the field. Another meeting will be a clothes swap for those who need to swap, the group will be moderated by BANDED members so all issues will be relevent to US. We will continue to solicit ideas for the meetings from its members and I believe this will help many of us get to the next level in our new lives.

The meetings will start promptly at 7:00pm and end at 8:30pm and will be held in the big white tent building behind st als just like they are now. Please if you have any input on what things we should do or would like to help facilitate the meeting please let me know. Me email is boiseman2001@yahoo.com or just let photonut here on the website know and she will take care of what needs to be done. Looking forward to seeing you all at the first meeting, I think its going to be great going deeper into the issues and a support group for bandsters run by bandsters.

Hey Richard
First off Good Luck on Friday - I'm sure all will be ok.
I just can't wait until our new meeting. If you need help on anything just let me know. I have written in our meetings up through the end of the year so hopefully that keeps me going.
See on Thursday.

I posted the meeting info. for the IdahoBandster "soup night" people as well as sent an e-mail to those who have attended the original SARMC group. Someone with IdahoBandsters wants to know whether we are publishing notice of the new meeting in a public forum, i.e., Idaho Statesman support meetings, TV channels, etc. What do you think and will someone offer to take care of it? Thanks.

Carla:

I think that we should see how the first meeting goes and just how much support we have from all. then we can advertise, I think that this is a better option. I know that debra at Dr Cahan's office is telling all their patients about the new group and I bet we will have a hughe turnout. I am very happy to see the interest in this group.

Oh I just sent an email, I guess I missed this whole thread (sorry Richard). I'm swamped trying to keep up.

I'm glad the barium swallow went well! I've been worried about that.

I won't be coming to the meeting on the 21st as the wife won't be back from her trip until Friday evening. I have a boatload of clothes to offer the downsizing bandster.

I'm going to launder a bunch of stuff and bag it up all the same, so if it doesn't get to this one I'll have it by the next one!

I think the extra meeting is incredibly cool and I'm just bummed out that I can't get to the first one.

Thank you kindly Sir!

Linda offered to give me a ride over there so I may well take her up on that offer depending on what work does to me (at the moment I have nothing scheduled, so I expect all hell to let loose!).

At the very least I'll try and make sure we have some b2g filers of some kind available if people want em - just so they can get support through the other few weeks.

I really feel like we're merging into a superk support team to help folks locally, nationally, and internationally!

Do you know if Dr. Cahn will be at this first meeting? That man has the most remarkable enthusiasm and energy I've ever come across.

Sorry I did not get to talk to you all more. Dawg, I really just did not get much of a chance to talk to you at all. I am sure I will see you again. I am really not an unsocial person. It was just very intense for me this first time. I will be glad to get to know each of you more as we go along. I enjoyed our meeting and can't wait for the next one.

No worries at all :) I'm not exactly a social animal at the best of times, thats why I have my P'Nut to help compensate. I thought it was an excellent meeting and was for more motivating than the usual support meetings.

I consider it a success, great work Richard and the team for putting it together.

Hey everyone, I thought the first meeting went very well. I sure liked the idea of trying several different types of protein drinks. Very sorry for the mix up with the location this time will have that fixed by the next one and will let you all know of location the time will be the same.

For those that want at the next meeting if you show up just a little early, we will have several tables set up so that you can put out the clothes that you want to get rid of to pass onto others. Have a grt day also I will have the photo board labeled before and intransition there if you want to put any pictures on it.

Linda, I am glad to hear that you got some clothes last night. I can imagine how hard it is going to be to keep up with the clothes once I am banded. That is such a great idea to have a clothing swap at the meetings.
