If you were denied coverage for the lapband and went self pay to get it, who did you use for financing?

I have hear good things about capitol one for financing the lapband surgery here in the US. Please add whoever you used, as well what country you used it for (Australia, Us, Mexico, etc.)

I used Bank One to get it done in Mexico and they charged me a $250.00 fee just because it was done out of the country. I didn't realize that I was going to have such a charge and was pretty upset at first. It was in my user agreement in small little letters the whole time. I initially applied through some medical financing creditor, and they denied me, which was a total shock since I have excellent credit and hadn't been denied in years. So I just opted to use a credit card.

Inamed offers a program through local banks...Call 1-800-Lap-Band (Option 3 or 4) They will get you in contact with a bank in your area and work out everything. The only catch is your doctor has to be signed up with them so they know how much they will have to lend you. I have heard great things about them.
Also don't forget....if you own your home and have some equity in it the interest from loan/line is tax deductible.
Just wanted to add what I tell patients at work.

I financed half through my bank and paid for the rest from my savings.

My DD used Capital One. She got approved over the phone in two hours at a good rate.

i was fortunate enough to have the cash on hand, but before i thought i would be able to save the money, i applied with capital one...and they approved but with a high interest rate.
i then went to http://www.vabfn.com/
i got approved with a decent interest rate...i think it was 9% or so, but there were crazy processing fees, origination fees, etc. i felt like i was about to buy a house. they made up for the low interest rate by trying to con me into paying an extra 4-5k. i had a lady at the doc's office tell me that she used the same company when they were having a promotion sort of deal where the only processing fee was $200. i might have taken that offer way back when...

My husband and I went through our bank to acquire a personal loan. The rate isn't too bad and, since it's through our bank, the monthly payments are automatically deducted from our checking account.

We had enough equity in our home to take out a small loan. Low interest rate of 6% not too bad.
