I started my banding journey April 2nd. 6 weeks later I had my first fill of about 1cc. Then I found out that I had to have back surgery on July 2nd. While I was in the hospital I had to have Dr Anderson come in and do a complete unfill because I was stuck really bad. Dr Cahn wouldn't do another fill until the swelling went down after back surgery. About 5 days before my fill I finally started getting terribly hungry. I went to get a fill on Aug 7th. He put in 1cc. Nothing!!! I was still eating like crazy. So, I called today and they got me in at 2:15. I ate at about 1:30 He did another 1cc fill. I was hungry when I went into his office. He did the fill and had me drink a cup of water. It is now 5:30pm and I am just barely starting to get hungry. It feels good to have restriction!!!

JULZ!!!!! Don't eat before a fill girly!!! Your fills will be more accurate if you don't eat before you get a fill. My doc tells me not to eat for 12 hours prior to a fill and to not drink anything 4 hours prior. There was also someone on here that was eating before a fill and would loose restriction quickly. When I told her about that (dang wish I could remember who that was.) she did her next fill empty and had much better results.

Wow! Twelve hours before a fill and nothing to drink before for four hours, I haven't heard that yet! I had my second post op appointment today, but didn't need a fill. I'm curious as to how long the longest period of time anyone on b2g went without needing a fill...

Glad your fill is working for you. Hope to see you Thursday at dinner before the meeting. I went to Dr. Cahn today and thought he might do a slight unfill. Oh, no he took it all out. I have no fill for a month.

Wow Chisaimama,

No fill for a month . . . were you over filled? I keep thinking I and going to get over filled, because every time I go in he fills me up, not only that but he puts in twice as much as I would. But so far (knock on wood) it's working okay.

I have always been curious about the unfills. Hopefully this will give your body the rest it needs and perhaps you will lose even more on the other side of the re-fill. Keep me posted - I'm pulling for you!!!
