 Putnam County Nurse, needs all the info r/t Surgery in Mexico(Dr. Jose Rodriguez). Do's and Don'ts for pre-op/ post-op. My co-workers think I have lost my mind, that I'm going to come home with 1/2 a liver, sans 1 kidney. Of course that is if I make it home. Need some reassurance here because I am not getting any!

Hi I went to Mexico July 27th and got banded. My co-workers thought i was crazy too. I had a great trip and surgery was fine. No problems. I used Dr. Zapata in Monterrey and his team was great. I have lost about 13 pounds already and feel good. So glad i did this. Good luck to you!!!! Donna

Congrats on your upcoming date. There are many on here and other boards that have reported nothing but great things about being banded in Mexico.:)

Wow!! Dr. A's response says it all. Congratualtions on your upcoming surgery. I am sure you made the right decision. What do co-workers know, anyway? HA !! Your success can really teach them a thing or two!! Hang in there. We're behind you.

I know how you feel. My surgery date is on Aug 28th, and I'm going to TJ, Mexico by myself! Everybody thinks I have lost my mind! I'm a single mother and leaving my 10 month old baby with my mom to babysit while I'm down there. I haven't told anybody at work because of this reason. But I am dealing with an over-critical 78 year old grandmother and my friends who don't want to see anything happen to me. I understand their concerns, but I'm going anyway and NOBODY CAN STOP ME! So many people go to Mexico for this surgery. I've met more that have gone to Mexico than having it in the US. So, they are reputable.

Good luck on your surgery. I will be rootin' for ya! YYYYeeee Hhaaaawww!!!!!!!
