I had my second fill on 7/11. I have a total of 2cc's in my 10 cc band.
I'm finding that most food keeps getting stuck. I can't believe how slow I have to eat and the small bites. Is this normal or could I be too tight?

you caouls be a bit irritated and swollen from having the fill, i know that it can take me up to 10- days to settle down after having a fill! After a fill i go back to fluids for 48 hours, then sloppy/mushy for 48 then gradually back to normal doet but if i have problems at any transition , i go backa step. If you find that even with small bites and eating slowly that you still get a sensation of being stuck you may be a bit tight but the first thing is to give things a chance to really settle down so thAt you know that you are not simply swollen or irritated, some of us have very fickle and sensitive bands- its not really a problems once you knw it and work out how to deal with it. If you are really having problems and you are concerned talk to your Dr

Berry - I had my second fill on July 12th and I know right where you are at. The difference between my first fill and second fill is incredible. Before the second fill, I was able to slowly eat my way through a normal portion size dinner in about the same time as my wife. Now, I can't eat 1/2 of what she has and it takes me five minutes longer.

I had one of those HUGE blockage pains yesterday that lasted 30 minutes. I sure learned a lot from that, but I am so happy that the band is doing it's thing. I need the reinforcement of an outside source (the band) to make me realize what and how to eat properly. If the band forces me to smaller protions and longer eating times, then I am all for it. It may not be an easy transition, but that is what I signed up for.

Take it easy and force yourself to make the right choices. Use soups, oatmeals, etc for some time and get used to the new band size. No one said it would be easy, but it can be done.

Good luck and keep me posted.

I had my first band in 2006 and I only had one fill before December. I know that in the mornings I could hardly eat anything and that was normal. After that I was very limited . But after December. I had a second fill. I could hardly get anything down but lost weight real well. Then at times I would go for a day or 2 without getting anything down at all. My band eventually had to be removed and replaced from not getting my overfill removed. Id say as long as you can still get your protein down then you may be safe but if you start getting blocked off completely for a day even then you might be too full. I enjoyed the rapid weight loss but its not worth losing that fast if it only leads to a revision.
