Port site soreness will go away shortly. Take some liquid tylenol. Other pain is more than likely from the gas and that will go away the more you walk.

My port side pain lasted about a week. Every day it got better. Before you know it you will not even remember it hurt.
Everybody's experience is different, I suppose. I had a really rough recovery and after the terrible pain subsided, port pain remained if I'd sit still for too long. I really really really hope that you don't have as bad an experience as I did.
I hope you feel better. Best wishes! I'll be thinking of ya!

yeah, my port pain stayed around well beyond a week but everyone's different. Keep an eye on it but don't hesitate to keep using the pain medicine as you need it and switch to liquid Tylenol when you can. Hang in there!

Mine was sore for about a week and it was like 3 to weeks before I could lay down on my stomach to sleep. That was the hardest part for me

gentle heat applied to the area may help too, keepthe pain meds up! as it is stitched to muscle it will hurt with movement but you need to keep moving! gradually the internal sutures will be absorbed and the port will be attached by a kind of scar tissue and it will not be painful at all. as the others have said, how long it hurts will be different for everyone, but you should find that the pain is at least gradually getting better, if it is increasing talk to your Dr. It can sometimes be hard to feel the improvement if you compare it day to day but if you compare today a few days before, hoprefully you will see that it is lesspainfull and that you can physically do more than you had before. But make sure you use your pain meds, if simple meds like Tylenol do not help enough talk to your Dr, you may find somthing like nurofen ( NSAID) may hel more but some Drs do not like bandsters taking NSAIDS- there are no bravery awards for the pain so make sure your meds help cover it enough to allow you to contine your day to day activities

I think it varies from one individual to the next and the ports location. I haven't heard of too many beyond two weeks of pain. As for mine, it lasted about two weeks. My port is to the right of my navel.
