I am currently shooting for 199. I thought that would be by goal and I would be happy to get there. But, my PCP thinks I would look GREAT at 180 lbs. If I could have a tummy tuck, arm work, thigh work and a boob job I wouldn't need to lose another pound. I have to really work on firming things up.

I don't even know where to begin. I feel like someone else here sitting at my desk typing what I am about to type.

A year ago today, I was in bed with horrible pains from my Lap Band surgery. NEVER in a million years did I expect to be where I am today. I have lost 124 pounds in 1 freakin year. I am not worried at all about it coming back.

I had my 1 year check up with my WONDERFUL Dr. today. SO GLAD that I scheduled it for my anniversary day because what happened there has made me finally realize how far I have come.
I got to the Surgery Center and waited to go in for my xray to make sure everything was ok. When I walked into the little room, Spivak did a double take and had to sit down. He had a grin on his face and was completely speechless. I honestly didn't expect him to remember me since he sees so many people, but he remembered me. We talked a little while and then he did the xray and he could not have been more happy. He said everything looked perfect! My throat, my stomach, the band, everything that he could see with that xray was GREAT!
Then, I asked him about a goal weight, since we had never really discussed it. He looked at me (I was sitting down) and told me to stand up. He just got that grin on his face again and shrugged his shoulders like, What more could you ask for? He said I looked fine. He said that the number didn't even matter because of how great I looked!
So, I am just in awe of everything he is telling me...
THEN, get this.... hold it, here it comes... HE ASKED ME IF I WANTED TO DO A COMMERCIAL!!!
YEP, YOU READ CORRECTLY. I was speechless then. He told me, don't answer me now... think about it. He said that it wouldn't be immediate, but he would love for me to do a commercial in the future.
(SIDE NOTE HERE: When I made the appt. with him I was joking with DH about what if he wanted to put me on a big billboard on I-10, and DH didn't like that idea at all)
Anyways... I can't believe that a few of my friends and my Dr. thinks I don't need to lose anymore. I laugh when people say I am skinny, because I have never been smaller (definitely not skinny)

So, I am thinking of changing the ticker to "where ever life takes me" instead of the 180 I was previously thinking. I think I would look thin at 180, and I do like my curves, I can't afford to lose more boobage.

I promise DH will take pictures tonight for my BANDIVERSARY and I will post tonight or first thing in the morning, but I just had to share my wonderful day.

Sometimes we dont realise how far we have come, but others on the outside watching and sharing the journey see how tremendous it is.
That is how I feel with you, we only know each other on a message board, but I feel like I know you, sharing your journey.

You have accomplised amazing things, its absolutely undescribable how far you have come in such a short time, its almost like the extreme makeover show. Youre who you were pre band and the next minute youre a skinny minnie. WOW...I know I am going on but I want you to know how proud we are of you and how inspirational you are, not to mention an awesome person too.

He's insane, if I see some degenerate even sneak a peak at my wife i'm ready to rip his arms off and beat him to death with them. My wife on the other hand is oblivious as to when she is being flirted with, which just makes it worse for me.

Awesome, Heather. Had I known that you worked at the same company as my husband I would have made the effort to go to that party just to see you! Jess, it was an ordeal with the dresses! I tried on an 18 and it fit perfect, so I ordered the 16 since I was guaranteed to lose weight, right? Well the 16 came in and there was NO way it would zip up. So, I kept the 18 and somehow lost tons of inches right before the wedding when it was too late to have it altered, so it was too big on me and by the end of the night everyone could see my bra. It was horrible. I am in a wedding at the end of February and I just ordered the dress that fit me in September and they will take it up. I have lost about 30 pounds since then, I believe, so it will be interesting to see how that will work. It is from a local shop and not David's so hopefully they can sew well. Which reminds me that I need to go and try it on! :)

My sister would love to have the surgery, but she has no insurance and absolutely no way to pay for it. She was very jealous and ugly when I first started losing weight, but she has gotten over that and is very happy for me now. If I could, I would pay for her to have the surgery.

You CAN do it! I NEVER thought I would lose all of this weight... It was really hard for me when I had only lost 25 lbs to think about how much more I needed to lose. But I made smaller goals... Like, get under 300, then to 275, then 250 and so on. Now that I am below 200 I try the smaller 10 lb goals. I never knew how hard it was to lose 10 lbs when I was over 300! :)

It is so weird to be saying this, but I do feel good Cynthia. Great actually! For the first time in my life, I am not on a diet and not trying to lose weight. I am more worried about the next time I can go shopping, or the next time I get to go out and party.
I am being pretty sensible in what I eat, and I am maintaining that dang 196 lbs. But, everyone says I look like I weigh less, so I guess I am greatful for that.
It is the MOST amazing thing to finally feel normal.
My absolute favorite thing about losing weight:
I can sit in my recliner and Madison can sit down next to me in the recliner. There is enough room for both of our butts comfortably! I was struggling to fit my big @ss in that recliner alone a year ago :)
Little things like that make me appreciate how dang lucky I am to have this band! Even with only 1 cc of a fill in, it really keeps me in check. 1 cc is my sweet spot now. I love the rescriction I have. I have not PB'd since my unfill. It is great!
Even with this gloomy weather here in Katy, TX today... it is a beautiful day!

My daughter is almost 21 months. I was banded when she was 6 months. I just can't imagine how her and I would play and run around if I had all of that extra weight on me. She was the #1 reason I had this done. I just didn't want to miss out on stuff with her because of my weight and embarrassment.

I see your's has brought you as much happiness as mine has me. I got married in 2002, so it will be 5 years this August! I am not planning on saving mine because there is no way I would want me future daughter to be able to wear it. I am planning on using mine to make dedication outfits and tooth fairy pillows for my future babies! No babies yet, so it is still hanging at my parents house.
